If u want an LS3 buy an LS3. A L99 is not the same motor.

That's a good question. For me though, I think it's interesting to at least divide up the records by auto vs manual. That's good data just for statistics sake and it's interesting anyway.

As for the L99 vs LS3... I think if you do an LS3 conversion on your L99, you have an LS3 with an auto. That's just my opinion though.

If you did nothing but a pure L99 to LS3 conversion. You can call it an LS3 all day long but, on the track it's still apples to oranges. Different tranny, and gears and overall weight.

everybody is forgetting the compression ratio's are not the same between the two engines.
if you modify the L99 by changing cams, its still an L99, just with an Ls3 cam.
if you increase compression ratio to match an Ls3, you now have an L99 with higher compression.

an L99 will always be an L99.
