Question Intake, Midpipes with cats and 90mm Throttle Body w/o Tune

Ok everyone, I'm wondering if this combo will work without a tune. I originally had bigger plans for my ZL1 but decided to just go with some basic bold on's for now and keep the factory tune. I was looking at a Roto-Fab intake, JBA Catted midpipes and a stock LS3 (90mm) throttle body. Would this setup work without a tune or would it be too much. Thanks in advance for the help.

Just check your AFR on the dyno and I think you will need to tune the TB..

I think the cai and midpipe might be fine.

I have been told you must tune for the 90MM TB. I am not sure if that had to do with AFR or just the response of the TB.

this is exactly what I am considering to start with as well. I am also considering STainless power longtubes as even though without pulley your net hp might only be 20-25hp less boost will also help minimize heat issue.

I have decieded to tune. this car runs real rich from the factory.

As a general rule of thumb. Anything changed behind the MAF should be tuned. So a throttle body or intake manifold etc.., Or, anything that changes the location of the O2 sensor or removes the factory cats. So long tubes or off road pipes will generally need a tune.

So everyone here is pretty much right on. The intake and high flow cats should be fine. You might catch an insufficient catalytic converter code on the cats every now and again but other then an eye sore it's not a big deal. The throttle body change might cause some issues.

90mm TB will not work well but the mid pipe and CAI should be fine according to the gurus here.

You would be pleasantly surprised how well the 90mm throttle works without a tune. Try it before tuning.

I tried it as my first mod with everything else stock and it felt like the car was not happy at higher rpms. At low throttle input and quick jabs it felt crisper with more torque. On a long pull to redline the car was fine until 5000 rpm. Maybe I was premature removing it until I added the other parts as I did not give the ECM time to learn.

Auto's and manuals respond different as well from what I have read. manuals addapting easier.

I'll give the 90mm tb a shot. Buddy of mine is giving me one so no worries if it doesn't work with this setup.
