I want my compartment back. The phono jack plug is really in a dumb spot. So im gonna pop out the plug and run a phono cable up to the front where the awesome 1SS no sily gauge cluster is. So I can reclaim my console.

Why do you say it's in a dumb spot? Do you have a phone which doesn't have a USB connection?

Grammar? Sorry to hear you don't like the USB plug location. It works great with my iPhone.

I have to agree with the op, I use the USB with my blackberry and the cable takes up a little too much room in the console if you ask me. While im driving, if I need to find something in there, the cable always seems to be in the way. Maybe if the jacks were lower, on that little "back wall" of the console?

Either way, I still use it everyday, its just one of those tweaks I guess. That and a +1 on the always on 12v outlet.

Yeah for an already small compartment, the plugs really tend to get in the way. I can see moving them to the glovebox. Hmmm, project? I think so.

I put a twist tie around mine, left just enough slack for the phone to lay flat. It works pretty well.

I think he means the 3.5mm jack. The 1ss doesn't have a usb port. Only a 3.5mm jack. Not nearly as nice as a usb.

I agree too.

First, the power plug up front is in a terrible spot and once I plug something in, its hard as hell to get out. I have actually pulled the bezel off trying... so I dont use it. I suction cup my GPS to the radio display (works great and keeps it out of the already very small window) and run the power to the console. With that and my iPhone plugged in, its a pretty useless space. With my (usually empty) wallet and glasses case in there, its full up.

Now I disagree with the "awesome 1SS no silly guages" or whatever comment. I love the look of the guages and I use them all the time. I like to monitor what my car is doing. (this is saying they are accurate!) I guess they will atleast notify you in the event there is a major change in something.

I have plans for the little flip door power spot...

My 1SS only has an mp3 plug in and not a usb port. I added a gauge cluster to mine. Imo what is not in a good spot perticularly on a 6 speed manual are the cup holders, hard to rest my arm over them.
