Anybody have issues with GMPARTSDIRECT?

Ive been trying to order parts from them but i keep getting hit with those hefty shipping charges PER ITEM! Youch. Great prices but cant get anybody to return emails or pm's. My whole family has Chevys and we are always looking for accessories. Would love to support a sponsor but im not getting a warm feeling. Ive heard some good things but maybe im just doing something wrong

Whenever I try to search a vehicle it only goes up to 2009.

I will NEVER EVER buy from them again. Decieving with low prices then they slam you with shipping. Their return policy sucks and their restocking fee is just ridiculous.

Yeah... I read one a while back on a competitor being called out because his prices where higher than GMPartsDirect and he had the perfect comeback...

"Wait til you get their out the door price" Guess he was right...

I've had great luck with them - have you emailed customerservice@gmpartsdirect.com ? Ask for Scott or Floyd.

Comparison shopping is always the way to go. I've found their discounts off list despite the shipping charges to be lower than local dealers - perhaps not what CamaroScotty's Dave can do so there's one alternative.

I asked them to explain their Shipping & Handling charges from another thread on the S&H for SS/RS emblems - Scott responded with:

"Thanks for the update, our minimum shipping and handling for the first item on the order is $15.95. When only the emblems are ordered our shipping and handling is $15.95. Gmpartsdirect.com sells parts near published dealer cost plus a percentage for a shipping and handling fee. This fee is not actual shipping charges only.
The shipping and handling pays for the shipping charges plus our other expenses like web programming, employees, etc. Another way to explain this is, we are selling you the part near published dealer cost, the shipping, and handling pays all of our expenses associated with running the web site. The amount left over after our expense is our profit.

Keep in mind our overall price is a tremendous savings over retail price and in most cases is even cheaper than dealer wholesale shipped to your door step, and without leaving the convenience of the Mouse. Compare the overall price delivered to your door.

If you find a lower delivered price at one of our competitors, please email us a screen shot and link of their delivered price and we will try to meet/beat their delivered price.

Thank you, Scott
GmpartsDirect.com Manager"

As for their parts list here's the link - http://www.gmpartsdirect.com/results...ber=2010Camaro At least it gives you a comparison point.

Yeah, I have ordered from them several times in the past and have had no issues. Yes, shipping costs are pretty high, and I shop around, but sometimes they are the only place that has what I want.

It has been years since I've ordered from them. Not because of S&H but because I haven't needed anything. If it still holds true today even though S&H is high the total price is still lower then most other places. I wouldn't call it a scam or bait & switch since they are up front with S&H.

If I needed genuine GM parts I'd likely order through them.

I won't order my parts from anybody but GMpartsdirect.com. They are the only place that have most of the parts I'm looking for and even with their s/h they beat other sites and my dealer by far.

For example;

- Cargo Area Mat
- Interior Trim Kit
- V8 Engine Cover

From GM Parts Direct is a total of $678 including s/h and NC sales tax. My dealer wants $827.12 plus shipping and NC sales tax bringing the total to $900, that is $222 saved by ordering though GMpartsdirect. GMpartscenter.net only has the engine cover out of my list and they want $262 shipped where as GMpartsdirect wants $226 shipped. I can order the Cargo Mat from other sites but GMpartsdirect only wants $114 shipped where as all the other sites want $130-$140 shipped. Nobody has the interior trim kit in to compare those prices.

Great points - the net selling price + shipping + tax (if applied, gmpartsdirect.com does not require tax except in NC as I recall) - must be compared for a true apples-to-apples. As hard as it is we need to do our homework and math - somethings haven't changed since school...

They have good prices over all. I ordered shorties, off road exhaust and an engine cover the day after Thanksgiving. All 3 on back order/not available yet. Finally canceled the shorties since spending $750 on very little HP and some bling can be better spent. Canceled the engine cover too and decided to just mod the original. Still have the off road exhaust on back order.

So I ordered the Heritage grill last week, its not available yet.

My only gripe is I wish they actually had parts to ship

Not had any problems with GM parts direct and the customer service has been great....even gave me a discount one time for a delayed shipping! S&H is high but if your ordering multiple parts (ie the led lights for the ABM) they only charged one fee for 4 lights. I would use them if they have the parts that I need on hand.

They fu**ed my credit card all up and had the part that i tried to order and for some reason my security code did not work when checking out so the total was held on my card for 5 days until the credit card company released it due to i couldn't get ANY e-mail responses back (i sent 4 in 3 days) It was a messed up deal. will NEVER order from there again.
