Help with tire sizes!

I've tried to do a search and found tons of different answers. But I want to know what's the widest sizes that I can put on the stock SS rims? Front and rear sizes. Thanks for the help in advance.

So 265 front and 285 rear? If I'm reading that right.

The stock wheels are not that wide, so you are fairly limited to using the factory sizes.
You could bump to a 255-45-20 in the front, but that is also a little taller then the factory 245-45-20, and 275-40-20 that is on the rear. Plus, there is no rear to match that is not even taller again. Your closest would be a 295-40-20 (and that would look silly)

Some people have crammed a 305 or 315 on the factory 10" rear. But, again, silly. Doing that would make the tire "crown" in the center and not give you anywhere near as much contact patch as you would think your getting, or want.

Your best bet to correctly get wider tires on your car is to get some wider wheels (assuming budget allows). That way you can do something wider but not go taller, which defeats the purpose for performance. You can do as wide as a 20x11 in the rear and a 20x10 on the front. This also greatly improves how the car handles and drives.
