I used 600 grit wet/dry sandpaper. I used it dry because of the adhesive and it worked well.

I removed mine by heating them with a heat gun, peeled right off and left no residue.

definatly a huge fan of the 3m Wax & adhesive remover, i have used that stuff for a long time now, it works better than anything else i have found, i used it to get the helmet warning stickers off the gas tanks of a few bikes... those damn things are really on there
