I purchased a 2004 Corvette from them back in 2004. Odered my Camaro at Christenson Chevrolet in Highland, IN.

I'm just curious if anyone has bought from any dealer in IL for the new Camaro, outside of your dealer. I was here a long while and never heard from one IL dealer. That's why I went with Scotty up North.

I originally called Ridgeway Chevrolet in Lansing, IL but the salesman was not to sure what was going on. They had 4 allocations. I decided on Christenson in Indiana because I purchased several cars from them and they had an allotment of 15.

i ordered mine 2 weeks ago at mike anderson in merrillville indiana. they had a lot of 22 and i was the first ss ordered.(not that it means anything). who is the weatherman at fox wfld????? scott?? my sister works at fox wfld!!

If they tell you to pay over MSRP, then you're an idiot if you don't leave. Never pay more than you have to pay. It is never a requirement to pay over MSRP. Dealers still make some profit at invoice.

Chicago area dealers in general like to mark up new car models. My friend Rick visited seven Ford dealers in person back in 2006 when the GT500s were just coming out and offered each of them $10K over MSRP to be able to order a GT500 with the colors and options he wanted. All seven turned him down. One dealer said he'd pre-sell at $20K over, but the other six dealers wanted to get the early production GT500s in their showrooms and see how much over sticker they could get. Rick started looking for an '07 Z06, figuring that the Z06 had been out for a year already and probably wouldn't command any markup. He could not find any Chicago area Chevy dealer willing to sell their Z06 allotment for MSRP. He wound up ordering an atomic orange tintcoat metallic '07 Z06 with the top option package at full MSRP through a dealer in Indianapolis, Indiana. With TTL it came to almost $84K out the door when he took delivery well over a year ago. If he had waited he could have gotten a Z06 for thousands less during the recent you-pay-what-we-pay "employee pricing" sale.

It's incredible how Chicago and Chicagoland dealers have been the last year and a half, most of the ones I heard from didn't know what was going on and wanted $5000+ over MSRP. It's funny how IL forces us to go to Indiana and Wisconsin to buy. I know I didn't call every IL dealer but I got tired after a while of the attitude most of them had.
