Cam Help Night Fury or Vengeance Stage 2
I will be ordering a cam here shortly and after hearing a bunch of cams in person and you tube I have narrowed it down to the following 2: Lethal Racing Nighfury cam or Vengeance Racing Stage 2 cam. I have ARH 1 7/8" long tubes with cats and some intake not sure which one i want yet. Future mods may include 3:91 gears. I am looking for around 450-475 RWH with good daily driveability. This is strictly for the street. I don't drag at the track anymore. By the way I have an LS3. How do the characteristics of these 2 cams compare to each other? I have spoken to both shops and feel really comfortable ordering from either one. Most likely I will do the install myself. Will probably have Matt from FSP tune car or Paul at Tork or the guys at Lashway. Tell me your thoughts please.
Thanks Ronnie |

Well, of course I'm biased, but love my Vengeance cam. Nice lope at idle, which is set at 750. Will buck a bit below 1200 without a load as will any cam. Great power and pulls real hard above 2000. This cam is so tame, my wife will drive the car where ever and when ever she wants. I'm sure a lot of people will post about there Night Fury experience. Best thing is to drive cars that have both cams in them if possible. I'm going to do gears soon, but don't feel pressed to do them. Loss of low end was very minor.

Gears will help you get moving better as these cars are so heavy. Not sure how much it will help at the track because I have never been. I'm sure someone else can chime in on that. I get 23 hwy and around 14 city for mileage. I'm told 3.91 will raise the RPM's by about 180 at 70mph.

OP - I'm a tad biased too but my Vengeance stage II cam has been great for 7500 miles and it hits all your requirements. In fairness the NF cam is all the rage on this forum right now so it can't be ignored. I've just not had the chance to drive one or even hear one in person yet. So from personal experience Vengeance is top notch and this cam makes strong tq across the power curve. Attached is my dyno sheet for the details. Good luck and in the end I think either cam will do you right.

Have either one of you guys had driveability issues? I had a huge cam in the past on a stalled automatic C5 vette and I hated the drivability issues.
