2015 Chevy Silverado 4.3 ecotec

Looking at buying one and wanted the forums option on the engine platform. Have not signed yet. Before anyone say I post in wrong section I know I post this here because this is the one I frequent.

Thanks

Definitely a good looking truck. I haven't driven many newer trucks with the 4.3 and I'm sure it's way better than the 4.3 in my S10 Blazer. But I can't wait to Vortec V8 swap it, just not enough power, but it's 4x4 and lifted 6". I think i would be ok with a 4.3 fullsize 2wd but if 4wd I would have to go 5.3.

Test drive it and check the DIC to see what kind of gas miliage it actually gets vs. what its rated.
I test drove a 2wd version of the Double cab and it wouldnt get out of its own way, shifted all over the place and was noisy as all get-go. Gas miliage was around 15 mpg.
I test drove a standard W/T longbed and it was a great truck- I bought it. Got 24 mpg as advertised.

Thanks, was looking for a v8 but stumbled on this and the price is almost 40 percent less the sticker. The deal for it is unreal but not to familiar with the platform if I get it twins are in the future for sure.

Keeping it till tomorrow right now average is at 19mpg. Ride noise is a little noisy for sure.

Check to see your accessiblity to the back seating area in it if you plan on transporting any passengers in the back seat.

I couldn't contort to get into the back area on the new Double cab, given the conventional smaller back doors.
Never was a problem in my 2011 GMC extended cab, which had the suicide doors that swung open the other way.

40% off sticker is a heckuva rip. I could put up with a lot at that discount.

I can't either went out try to get in the back and we'll I ain't big 5'8 215 and had to twist dam near sideway to get in. And the seats are very uncomfortable sit to straight and no type of recline. I should have check this before I left the dealer. Guess I will look for a 2500. Thanks

Great for putting kids in the back. Adults- not so much.

The Crew Cab is the one that actually fits rear passengers. Aint cheap though.

I had a 2009 with the 4.3. I hope they have changed the design of the engine since then because it was a dog. It did not have enough power.
I kept it for 2 years and traded it in for a 2011 LTZ with the 6.2. Almost the exact same gas mileage.

The new 4.3 is a completely new engine and much better. It makes something like 285HP and 310 TQ. On E85 it makes something like 300HP and 335 TQ....pretty impressive if you ask me.

The old 4.7 V8 I had in my 2005 Ram didn't make as much HP and TQ as this V6 does.

Would you care to wager. Just sign for the truck can use some additional funds.
