Congrats Bruce! It is truly a beast. BTW...what are you gonna do with your spare time at Firebird since you will beat all of the So Cal contingent by 2 hours if we all leave at the same time??? I am assuming you are instrument rated for the flight. HA!!

Not just on this engine, but others, if the dyno map started at say 3000 then you usually have a higher number at say 3500 since it has built boost through the power band. On this one you will actually see the TQ is higher on the 15 psi or 18 psi pull versus the 28 psi pull at 3600 because it started the pull just a fraction of a second earlier and had just a little more boost at that rpm.
Okay, however your car at idle has more than mine at WOT

"28 pounds of boost. This motor will push 38 pounds, but we only have 4 head bolts on it so we didn't want to push much more that that" ..........

Thanks. It has kind of a different look with the silver anodizing. Kind of pewter looking.

Nah, I thought about that. I guess we could have had PQ stick his finger in the turbo to show that it was real... Ouch !

Funny you caught that. Yeah, between the stainless O-Rings and the Aircraft glue we put on it, it can hold 28 psi, but that is because it is almost like JB welding the head to the block...lol. To push it the rest of the way, ya gotta go with the 6 bolt heads. Plus those will pick up a little more CFM too.

Since the goal of the motor when this all started was 800 hp - 1100 hp, you can see how it kind of snowballed...

Sounds like one of my projects. Starts simple and gets pushed 'just a tad' more.

Problem is when you reach that 'tad', you realize the next 'tad' is so close, so you g ahead to the next 'tad'. Of course the next 'tad'/ requres a 'pinch' to make it work. No problem, however a 'tad' and a 'pinch' together make the NEXT 'tad' right there. So you go ahead to the next 'tad'.

But it looks like you ran out of 'tads' on this one.

I always hated Tad. He's such a leach......
