A lot of complaints that the Camaro seems very large.

A lot of the articles I've read in magazines and online, along with many, many posts from people in this forum mention that the Camaro feels really large. I simply don't agree with that, to me the car seems just right. I have a full size Yukon XL and that feels like a big vehicle. Being a little larger I think helps the ride in the Camaro. I rented a Mustang a couple of years ago and that car beat the living hell out of me. Horrible riding car, cramped, and uncomfortable seating. The Mustang felt small and cheap.

Why do people think the Camaro feels big?

It feels big because it is heavy. Driving my SS then driving my GT500 is like night and day. You are right, I feel beat up when driving the GT500 because of the SVT suspension and solid feel...which is how I like it. The SS feels coasty to me but I expect that because of its heft. You can make it feel solid with suspension upgrades but doesn't change the fact that it is heavy.

The Camaro is a god damn tank. And it can do 0-60 in less than 5 seconds. I don't see a problem with that.

Want a small sports car? Buy a Miata!!!

I came from a G8 GXP (and a GTO before that). The Camaro feels lighter and more nimble. Even though technically the weight is the same, the suspension rides a lot better. Ridewise, the G8 was a step up from the GTO, and I think the Camaro is another step up from the G8.

throughout the history of the camaro and mustang, the camaro has always been a heavier car.
More of it to love.....

It doesn't seem large, it is large. The dimensions on this thing are huge. I don't mind though, I like it.

I thought it was large when I first saw it in person, but I was comparing to the concept I saw earlier that year. In person, the concept seemed very small.
