The manual tranny really likes the Mobil 1 synthetic ATF I put in there. It is the multi-car formula based on Dexron 3. Trust me - it IS better than what is in there now. You will feel the difference when you shift. Nice easy improvement for maybe $7 per quart x 4 quarts = $28.

The rear end will be getting the GM fluid and additive.

Did that help with the sometimes grindy feeling when shifting? even at a redlight and im playing around with the gears it seems notchy in first and second the first few times then smooth! Unless i find on here otherwise about a crazy reason to not use it, im gonna use mobil 1 for my tranny too. Anyone heard anything about RP synchro max? IM NOT USING GM anything only aftermarket gm approved fluids. If draining my differential fluid after a couple thousand miles looked like what it did with their gm crap then im not putting it back in it. I put RP in my differential. I hear some people say you can only run DEX 6 tranny fluid and not dex 3?
What tranny fluid should i use for my M6? mobil 1? or RP.. and what type of RP? or any other suggestions. I really like Mobil 1 bc i used it in my 02 gmc since day 1 and has 140,000 miles with 130,000 pedal to the floor and the motor doesnt smoke and still runs like a champ. just dont know about these new car specs requirement stuff there doing with these cars.

The Mobil 1 Dex 3 ATF (multi-vehicle formula on bottle) did help with the gear "nibbles" especially when cold. Do not run Dex 6 in your M6 tranny.

Where is everyone getting the Mobil 1 ATF tranny fluid? I looked at my local O'Rielly and they didn't have it.

1 qt! Pull the bottom diff drain plug out to drain. Put plug back in and take out the bolt above it the drain bolt and fill with fluid. Only 1 qt!!! Make sure u have a hand pump for adding fluid makes it a piece of cake. It's a tight fit without one but is managable.

I'm not sure if this has been said or if it's "common sense..." but make sure to take off the FILL plug BEFORE the drain plug...

Just in case you can't get the fill plug off after you drain it... well, you get the idea.

Pep Boys has it. I had to shop around quite a bit to find it. Buy some online if you want to save a lot of driving around.
