Pulsestar plugs, real advance or snake oil?

Hi all,

Just came across some info about Pulsestar spark plugs. I was hoping someone on here could give some feedback on the performance side. I have found several websites that examine the effects of these plugs from a fuel economy perspective, but nothing from the performance angle. For $100 per 4 plugs they better put down some impressive gains.. Here is an image of how they differ from traditional plugs:

They claim that by storing the charge into a capacitor that can then discharge the energy in a matter of nano-seconds at significantly increased wattage there are performance gains. They claim normal plugs discharge in the order of 50 +/- watts while their plugs discharge at up to a million watts which could be great or could be because of the short discharge time as watts is a measure of energy over time. Some of the tv horsepower type shows have agreed with this assessment, however its hard to tell if they are just being a shill for a paying sponsor or not.

Anyone on here have direct experience with these plugs or plugs like them? Total snake oil or a real technological advance? For those like me that hadent heard of these yet, here's an article talking about their supposed benefits : http://www.lsxtv.com/tech-stories/ig...-with-pulstar/

Snake oil.

If the combustion cycle is completed with your current plugs, more efficient plugs won't help. They can't add power, they can only make up for lost power. IOW, change your plugs and replace them with new OEM plugs and you'll see a gain too because you're replacing a worn item.

Other plugs will help with forced induction, etc. But there is not a thing Pulstars can do that any number of aftermarket, much cheaper, plugs can also do.

Figured as much, this is why i have to crowd source info on performance mods on the internet now. You just cant believe what your told, even when it seems like a reputable source..
