V8 differential in 2011v6 Camaro

Just wondering if anyone has done the swap? What would I need for the conversion. This is for a manual car.

V6 auto has the wimpy diff....I swapped mine in the driveway, nothing to it it's just a matter of swapping parts. You'll need the V8 back half of the drive shaft, half shafts(axles) and hubs(bearings) and the center section of course, if you had a a6.....since you have a m6 you have the bigger diff already.

The v6 auto has the smaller diff. The v6 manual is the exact same as the v8 one

The V6 manual pumpkin is the same. Gear in V6 manual & V8 auto is 3.27, but V8 manual is 3.45. No point in swapping if the V8 rear is from V8 auto, but you would get different gear ratio if swapping to V8 manual.

I hope that same dealer will not be doing any work on the car if they don't know about the differential.

There actually a good dealer. I wasn't talking to the master tech. Thanks for all the info though . Once I get my car running correctly with the new master cylinder I will probly change out the gears to a 3.73

I love how they charge an extra $1200 for an automatic trans then swap to the smaller rear end. Are the cost differences between the manual (plus v8 diff) and auto trans really that price?
Then it will cost you $1200 to get the parts to swap a v6 rear to a v8.

I'm not too sure on the autos but I do know that the charge for filling the rear diff is different from auto to manual.it seems like modifying the autos rear end sounds more expensive.

This is some really good info. Like you said I think the dealer was thinking my car was an auto when I talked to the service person on the phone.in relieved to know the manual diffs are the same. Guess after my master cylinder ill need a new clutch . Thinking of getting the lower arms front and rear sway bars. Anything else to keep everything in the drive train from breaking? I want my car to feel like it can handle all the power. Currently shifting feels slotchy.
