If you really can pull of a 14.0-14.1 AND you get the jump you might beat him through the 1/4. He will probably run a better time but if both people know its on, 1st through the 1/4 gets the W.

I've raced and owned a couple of C4 corvettes. They are like a Forrest Gump box of chocolates.
It really depends on what options and driver ability. Some had an auto trans with 2.59 gears. Those were the high 13 cars.
A properly driven M6 came with 3.45s and could touch bottom 13s in stock form.

When I owned corvettes we'd have a forum cruise in at Bowling Green and rent the dragstrip out for a whole day at Beech Bend. You got to see what everyones car did for real on the same day, same track. I saw a lot of stock LT1 cars in the mid 13s and a couple well driven ones hit low 13s. Of course I saw others in the 14s so take it for what its worth.

Considering he hasn't babied the car (black smoke out the exhaust until recently, terrible tires) and will be his 1st time on a drag strip it could be a close one if I can hit the 14.0-.01 range again

Here's another C4 that I used to race with at Richmond. Unlike the Callaway Twin Turbo, this one was fairly stock from what I remember with just a few bolt-on's, a set of tires and a body kit.

The local Corvette clubs from the Richmond and Hampton Roads area used to hold track day events at VMP and Richmond several times a year as well as the Vettes, Vipers & F-Body Club. With a C4 Vette you never really knew what you're lining up against.

vette would probably win..as long as the vette owner has been taking good care of it and knows how to drive.

lower profile, way lighter..two things that make vettes so quick.

oops, didn't see your post before and made my last comment.

If that is the case, should be a lot closer. Mid to low 14's are doable for you.

That Callaway is a 1987 RPO B2K - it has the rare, optional 100+ intake package

188 Callaway Twin Turbo Corvettes were built in 1987, with 510 being built from 87-91 under this Chevrolet RPO. Pretty awesome option, which I have had the privilege and pleasure of owning two of them

They were tearing slips in half all day yesterday for real street drags I just know his best time was 14.5 mine was 14.2. His r/t's were terrible .7's mine were .1
