I probably am saving some, but I doubt that I am saving a whole lot. I am learning a whole lot about the car, and I know that it is done the way that I want it done. And also...I know that someone isn't out doing burnouts while "testing" the car. I've never had problems with going through a set of tires like some of our other friends.

I'll get you a stack of cards whenever we meet up again.

You just never stop, do you?

PS. I would like some cards, too.

Lemme know if you need help on the weekends. I can hand you a wrench, like the best of them.

Goodness Joe, that's incredible! That whipple is mind blowing. IMO it puts any other supercharger to shame, even on looks alone! I had no idea you were powder coating it white!

I was showing my old man your Callaway and Convertible just a few minutes ago and he thought they were great. He's more of a stock kinda guy so neither car was exactly his taste (to each his own) but I tried to talk him up about the Callaway.

Anyways, I'm sending that deposit I promised you your way tonight. Keep up the great work on the convertible, I love what you're doing with it!

The battery is 15 lbs compared to the stock 45. Same voltage...and has around the same cranking amps if I remember right. It wouldn't be a good battery for cold locations, but since I'm in Georgia, as well as my car stays garaged, it is fine for me. There are others on this site with the Braille battery. That is where I got the idea from.

Oh yeah...your old man needs the callaway! He can take off the stripes if he wants :-) I'll make him a special offer.

As for the white whipple...I have to give credit to FloMoCamaro. I fell in love when I saw his whipple.

I bought mine at newegg.com. That seemed to be the best price shipped. I also bought the aluminum mounting bracket. I welded in a solid steel plate and then bolted the aluminum bracket to it.

Battery

Bracket

It didn't seem like I got a lot done tonight...but I worked a long time. My youngest son, Alex (11), was out there with me most of the time. He had a lot of questions!

I installed the other header (no pics yet). They were a little tight going in, but once in, they fit very well.

I disassembled the supercharger per the instructions. I had a difficult time installing the MAP sensor on the back of the supercharger. It was a tight fit, and the o-ring was rather large. I ended up using a chamfer bit in my drill to give it an easier way in.

I installed the intake onto the engine. I then inserted the new injectors into the intake. That took a really long time also. The o-rings on each one were also really difficult to get in. By the 8th one, I got it figured out. That always seems to be how it works.

I got the new heater hoses installed, and got the oil in the supercharger.

I still need to torque down the intake. I ordered a 1/4" torque wrench tonight...so it won't be here until Friday.

I did manage to break one of my ball-end hex sockets. I'll have to go get it replaced tomorrow.

Here are a few pics of the intercooler (mostly installed). Also you can see my new air scoop for the intake box.
