UPDATE : I've been quietly mapping out my plans for the car for the rest of Summer, as well as Fall. Camaro 5 Fest IV is coming up soon, and I didn't want to get out to Indiana with a half A$$ed car, so I had to put a few things in motion.
I ordered the APEX Race scoop and relocation kit, and finished installing it this morning. Great product, and the fitment was great, zero issues : I mounted the remote fill neck on the outside of my Roto-Fab, for a cleaner look. The PVC tube is slightly "kinked" the way I ran it, but nothing that will stop me from filling up my reservoir tank.

I also finally got around to painting my brake calipers, using the Duplicolor kit. I saw mixed reviews, with most people complaining about chips, but I made sure I gave each caliper 4-5 coats to avoid that. Either way, if it chips, I will switch to the G2 kit, or just get them powdercoated, but for now, they look good to me :
I bought some paint brushes off of Amazon to avoid the issue of the supplied paint brush falling apart and messing up the painting process. I opted to use a brush because I didn't want to deal with over spray and taping up everything in my wheel wells. I also ordered the following on Friday : 2)- 20x9 Nurburgring (2)- 20x10 Nurburgring (2)- 275/40R20 TOYO ST II (2)- 315/35R20 TOYO ST II (4)- Original TPMS Sensors GM Pt# 12768826 - Mounting - Balancing - Black Lugs - Centering Rings Which will make my 3rd set of wheels for this car! I know everyone and their mother has these wheels, but I honestly feel like they some of the best looking (and affordable) wheels you can buy for the 5th gen. I wanted to get them in Matte black, but I also wanted to do something different and see how the matte gunmetal would go with CGM. I've seen a few pictures, so I'm confident it will turn out great. Later on down the road, I will get custom center caps.

Now that I finally got my last set of wheels and tires, I can focus on getting the rest of the parts for my Cam Swap. Just a quick picture of all the parts I have : The only parts I'm missing are : 160 Degree T stat BTR 7.4 pushrods Oil pan & Valve Cover gaskets PCM 545 Cam I'm hoping to get everything done late Fall, possibly before winter, but we will see.

I didn't think to take any, but I certainly can when the weather clears up hopefully this weekend.

I've been really busy with the mods this month, It's actually been hard to keep track of the ones I've been doing. I had my car in the auto shop, replacing the stock trailing arms and sway bars with BMR TA's and Sway bars. I opted not to convert my suspension to FE4 because I am not that big of a road racer. I am a spirited driver at best, and I only wanted to tighten up the body roll in my car.

Today I installed my Halo Angel Eye Fog light kit from Diode Dynamics, and I am 100% impressed and satisfied with this kit. Here is a video and some pictures of the different colors :

LOL no worries man. I think it's the fact that my picture signature is very old that throws some people off.

Looking at that DIY LS3 cam install on this forum is also making me realize a bunch of extra tools I need to buy for this, torque wrench(s), 24mm socket (dont know that any of mine go up that high), snap ring pliers and bench vise for the trunnion upgrade, fuel line disconnector, probably more that im forgetting. I have to remember i dont live with my dad like I used to so I dont have his 50 years of tools that he has accumulated lol. |

As far as the cam swap goes, I couldn't bring myself to do it. As much as I would want to try to tackle it just to learn more about the car, and save some money, there's too many specialty tools involved and I would need someone who is very knowledgeable there to help me with the swap when it comes to the valve springs, pushrods (measuring pushrod length, PTV clearance, and degreeing the cam), and there's almost no one around here that is familiar with LS engines like that. So it's off to PCM of NC I go while I'm in school for 2 months to get it done by them.

Well, I can finally scratch another part off my list of cam swap parts. My PCM '545' camshaft came in today :
