A tick over 13.0 sec. and you're through the quarter-mile. It's a rush, of course, but not overly dramatic. Try the same thing with this pair's predecessors of 1970 or so and you'll find yourself in a bit of a wrestling match. Ain't progress wonderful? Maybe yes, and maybe sometimes it's fun to wrestle."

Heh, I am all for he camaro but the 370z should be respected. motortrend went 0-60 in 4.7 sec. hit the 1/4 in 13.3 at 106 mph, that is nothing to scoff at. Remeber this is not a dragster, it does .99g in the corners and brakes 60-0 close to 100ft. WOW! The camaro will have a better power to weight ratio, and will be waaaay cheaper to mod. I think it will be able to corner and stop very well with it's IRS and Brembo Brakes. we shall see.

I don't know... Watching that "Undercover" video of the 370Z in motion makes that front end look pretty mean, and I thought it looked a little funny too, at first. That's an angry looking car. I think the new grill has a fang-like look. Nice...

The new 370Z should be a BLAST to drive. Small, fast, handle great. The reason I would buy a Camaro SS/RS manual over it would be for the extra room, the looks, and I love the sound of a great free breathing GM V8, and MONSTER TORQUE!

An interesting opportunity to compare 2 cars tested by the same source...
http://www.motortrend.com/roadtests/...est/index.html G8 GXP (6MN) tested by MT: 0-60 in 4.5 sec 1/4 mi. in 13.0 @ 109.6 mph Lateral accel is .90 G Braking 0-60 in 117' Not exactly a fair comparison, given one is a 5 passenger sedan, but it might help give an indication of what direction the final performance #'s for the Camaro will end up looking like. Best regardSS, Elie

sorry I'm Hella late here, but gotta jump in re: the Crossfire.
Crossfire=bottled blondes car SRT6=rocket They run 12.9 stock, and eat most other road warriors for dinner. remap+CAI+pulley swap will get you into the mid 11s. I should know, I have one (no, I'm not a bottled blonde) |
