Auto Cross Help

Doing my first autocross this weekend. What Class do I enter into (it is a SCCA Solo event in Milwaukee, WI). Only Mods are Hotchkis subframe connectors, CAI Intake and catback exhaust. I am thinking Street Touring Unlimited. I was told I might have to run Street Super Modified? Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

The sub-frame connectors would put you in a prepared class. Autocross mods can be tricky. You should be fine in STU. Being that this is your first event, I don't think you will have anyone protest.

Agreed.. No one will mind you running in STU.

Ask to run in the novice version of the class (NSTU). I did that at my first event. I think you can do it for your first year. Since it's your first event, don't worry too much about what class you're in. I think it's important not to compare yourself to others too much, but to compare yourself to your previous time. That's what I did and I continuously improved (and even took 3rd in the novice class!). Definitely ask for an instructor to ride with you, they can really teach you a lot.

Good point Steve! Nice to have a fall back class. I'm thinking of getting some CAM letters made for next season.
