I'm pretty sure this will be the fastest ZL1 very soon

Check out this ZL1 being built by Larry Larson.

I'll be at Hot Rod Drag week in 3 weeks, I'll try and get some more pictures of this beast for you guys!

Sweet baby Jesus!

I don't understand why they would start with a ZL1 and strip it like that but what a build. Very impressive.

Serious car being built. Not sure that a zl1 was used. If it was what was the point. The car was gutted and being built as a drag car.

I guess when your pockets are this deep it doesn't really matter what you start with!

Well I would have bought a copo or even one of the cars that the gas monkey guys bought before I would have hacked up that car,if it was a ZL1. It will be a nice car no doubt but still.

Wow! That is the real deal. If you did start with a ZL1 you could sell off all the unused parts for a good amount of cash.

That is going to be unreal!

A COPO is nice but it's no street car. Larson is building this to compete in the fastest street car series.
And yes they began with a new ZL1 (see mileage and speedo in the pics).
In the end it will cost way more than a COPO, but it will be faster and will be street driven hundreds of miles between events just to qualify for the series.
Hard to imagine, right? God I love Drag Week!

Yes that was my shock, the pictures clearly show a new ZL1 to start with. To each their own and it does look like an absolute beast of a build. Very nice work being done by some very talented people.
