Car seems slow

I have an 2011 SS A6 with 1200 miles and it just seems slow. I have filled up with 91 octane(highest around here) since got it and have also tried the fuse pull twice. I had a 2008 Mustang GT and the Camaro seems about the same speed as it. Maybe its just my imagination, but if I stomp on it it doesnt seem to go like it should. I have also tried turning off traction control and stabilitrac and same results. Does anyone have any ideas or is the engine just not really broke in yet?

Mine seemed to get faster once it was broken in. It's new the tires grip good and well she just needs to wake up.

I think the discussion is moot without actual numbers. Have you run the car at the strip, or put it on a dyno?

There are two 'speed concealing' issues with this car. The first - The L99 and LS3 both seem a little more powerful when broken in. But it's still a 400hp engine so it shouldn't ever seem slow.

#2 is that the car is actually pretty well engineered. The ride is refined, the transmission is geared to keep the car running at high RPM, and the ratios are relatively close, so you don't get that wild whiplash say, on the 1-2 shift as you would with an old-school 4 speed auto like the previous Camaros. It almost feels more like a fast german car versus an American muscle car (i.e. it doesn't feel fast, but when you look down, you're doing 130 and Bach is quietly playing on the stereo...)

Change the air intake and the exhaust system and you will feel an amazing difference. I have the manual and although mine was fast when I first bought it I could tell the difference wheb I made those changes

maybe u are just used to faster cars and the Camaro may not seem to feel fast because it is a heavy boat of a fast car.

I think you just had too high of an expectation.. your old mustang gt had 300 hp and 320 tq with 3500 curb weight. Your new L99 have more power but also weight more, so when you say it feel about the same, that is about right.

Like your peers said, modding will make a huge difference.

Try it in M vs. D. The "sport mode" makes the car drive much faster.
