Thanks Tim. I'm anxious to see it finished myself.

Bumper got it's first coat of clear. May have run into a problem. Standing back a few feet it looks good but up close or at the right angles you can see some areas where I welded the patch pieces in. The reason is most likely that the fillers and plastics react to the paint differently. Tomorrow they will wet sand it and give it another coat of clear. If it doesn't correct it I am going to leave it and see what happens after the car has been in use for a while and in various weather conditions. Once I'm sure it's stable I will work on repairing any areas that may need it before the final paint.

I didn't get a chance to snap any photos but all in all I think it looks great, I will know better when it's out of the spray booth and out in the open.

Got the car back from the body shop. The wet sanding and another coat of clear cleaned up a lot of the imperfections. It still needs to be wet sanded and buffed but I'll let it cure for a few days first. There's still a few more areas where the different materials take paint differently but it looks good. The plan is to let it be and see what areas need attention after it cures and finds it's own home. I took a couple of quick pictures but will get some better ones up later when I pull it out of the shop.

Thanks, it looks good but there is a long ways to go before final paint. I may even do another one, improving on the problem areas then keeping this one as a back up.

Wow, that looks great! I think better than the first version. I think the rear view is just begging for a more aggressive spoiler now. I know you love working with plastics but have you ever thought of complimenting it with your own spoiler design?

I don't care much for the spoiler they put on these, I've thought about an Anvil but not enough to get one. I have thought about making something but if I do I think it would be out of aluminum.

One thing that makes the whole job worth it is when washing it there is no more water trapped in the taillight bezels making drying it simple. lol. No matter how much you try it always seems that water would trickle out of the bezels at some point, problem solved.

Something I noticed before washing it was there seems to be condensation in the left two lenses or there was a reaction with the clearcoat as they are not clear around the perimeter of an oval shaped center. They were perfectly clear before painting. It looks like it may be condensation that may have formed when in the oven, I'll check it out tomorrow when I have some free time.

Here's a few shots in the daylight.

Thanks all. I'm happy with it but it's not perfect. I already collected a few pieces from another trashed bumper to do another one. My plan is to do another when I have the time, correct the little things that are bothering me about this one and swap them before final paint, then keep this one on the shelf just in case.

I've been surprised by how many people have made comments on it, didn't think anyone but Camaro fans would catch it, that and the door handles, seems like they're more noticeable than I thought. I'm hoping to finish the handles up soon then paint the doors.
