intercooler hoses

I know this has been discussed before, but I can't find the thread, is the upper hose the one that flows water into the supercharger? Or is it the lower one?

ok so the hot water comes out the bottom of the supercharger, goes through the pump and into the exchanger, and then the cooler water goes back in the top. Right!?!

Hose 7 should be the supply for the pump.

I’m doing a custom LSA into another car, it looks like coolant into the bottom and out the top would purge air better. I see the diagram just saying what is the reasoning?
