Shift Knob Suede coming off

Well, this past week my Shift Knob on my 1LE has decided to start coming apart, on the top of the knob where there is "Stitching" towards the front of the car the suede has decided to come unglued and there is a piece of suede cloth just sitting about 1/4" away from the knob, has anyone had this happen? ill be going to the dealer tomorrow to get it fixed under warranty.

No but the alcantara on the steering wheel came unglued on mine. You could twist it around the wheel with your hand. Had mine replaced under warranty.

Mine started doing the same. I haven't had a chance to take it in. Let us know if they'll cover it or classify it as normal wear and tear.

10k miles here and mine looks like total garbage....

I can get it fixed under warranty, but it'll just end up the same way, cheap crap. Putting in a Hurst soon....

By using the cleaner kit, I have kept ours looking good (cleaned it twice since May of 2013, just over 19K on the car). I do have a spot of stitching on the front side of the shift knob that I have been keeping my eye on since we got the car. I think it is going to have the same problem as yours, and plan on getting it taken care of before warranty runs out.

Does anyone know of a good aftermarket shift knob that will actually install on the factory shifter ?

Yes! http://www.epcoshiftknobs.com/

I had them make me a custom knob...they have a kit that fits our shifters. Do it! My Suede knob is nice n' clean in my junk drawer lol

My solution to your problems. A custom made EPCO 1LE knob and a $7 Auto zone stretch cover to keep the steering wheel unmolested.

And as you can tell from my radio screen, I've never wiped it, scared of scratching it

My pic is a crappy cell phone pic I took. The knob is a real high quality, nicely etched and finished product. I highly recommend them. GM authorized too
