Exclamation **Warning do NOT dump the clutch on stock axles w/D.R's**

Those of you who are wondering what the limitations of the stock axles are, here's an idea.

My mods are as follows:

Forged bottom end stock ci
Aftermarket cam
Ls3 Cnc ported heads fully built
Headers
Cold air intake
Spec stage 3+ clutch and flywheel
305/35/20 Nitto 555r drag radials

I made probably 10 passes on this setup 5 of which I power shifted on my 1-2 shift. I usually always slip the clutch with no problem and no wheel hop on the launch. I decided to finally try to dump the clutch since I've done it once with the stock clutch on the track and didn't have a problem. I've even done it once on the street with my new Spec clutch and I got a little spin and then it bogged.

On my last pass of the night took it up to 5k rpm, dropped the hammer and boom there went my passenger side axle! I figured I would get enough tire spin with these tires and that the spin would keep it from breaking but unfortunately it didn't go that way. The car didn't move an inch off the line.

So those of you wondering like I was about axle strength, here's a good example. All in all it seems like they'll take a little beating from my experience with them as long as you slip the clutch.

Yeah now that you mention that I think I will take a look in there. For now I'll probably just buy a used stock axle until I safe enough for some gforce axles. I probably won't be making a return to the track until I finish installing my nitrous system and I'll definitely be slipping the clutch from now on
