Installing 1.9 Eaton On 2SS, Need Guidance..
I have a 2010 2SS with the LS3 that I am installing a supercharger from a 2013 ZL1 on this winter. I am gathering parts right now and getting ready to place a big order with ADM Performance. I would like to be 600+ rwhp when it's all said and done. Here is what I will be ordering:
LSA Basic Install Kit W/O Supercharger 65lb Injectors ZL1 Fuel Pump w/ADM FPCM BTR Stage 2 PD Cam BTR .660 Lift Springs I already have long tube headers with offroad cats waiting to go on and I also have GM Factory Performance axle back exhaust that's already installed. Will be ordering a CAI of course. Other than changing the springs on the heads I will be keeping the heads stock for now. Here are a few of the questions I have... 1st) What kind of boost does the factory pulley on the supercharger make with the factory balancer? Should I consider changing the pulley size? I don't want to go crazy on the boost. Curious if anyone has went similar on that setup. If so, how much boost and what numbers did it put down? 2nd) Is there any reason that I should go with the 80lb injectors instead of the 65lb? I am not looking to do more than 650 rwhp probably. Would like to keep it fairly fast, fun and dependable. 3rd) Anyone running a 160 degree thermostat? Recommend? 4th and Lastly) Clutch recommendations? Was looking at Monster Stage 3 with lighter weight flywheel. Anyone use a lighter weight flywheel and if so did you see much difference? Thanks for the input! Would love to hear from some people with very similar setups! If you have other recommendations throw them at me! |

I would get the BTR Stage 3 PD Cam, it idles great, and gives you a good boost of power. Also, 85lb injectors not 65 lb injectors. I've been there, I am telling you, you will need 85lb injectors. Talk to ADM Performance first, he will help you make sure you don't buy the wrong extra parts.

The stock pulley with a cam and longtubes makes about 6lbs, I would go with a 2 piece pulley (2.85 or a 2.50)
I would go with 80lb injectors because the initial cost isn't much different and even though you don't plan on going over xxxhp you might change your mind later on. Yes, I would recommend running a 160 stat, the cooler the motor the better. Clutch, everyone will recommend a street slayer twin disc. But it's not very budget oriented. Someone else will probably chime in on this I have a 2.5 upper and it made 10.5psi up top

Try FIC 85lb they are cheap and work great. If you buy the ADM kit, it includes the 160 degree thermostat.

Since you are doing the LSA blower, just call ADM, they will set you straight one what you need.

I've emailed Andy a few times. You're right, I need to go ahead and just call him. I hate feeling like I'm pestering someone though. I'd say he stays a very busy man!

I'm running a 2.75" pulley on mine and getting 8lbs of boost. I also have long tube headers, BTR stage 1 cam and all the necessary supporting parts. ADM Performance did the work. I put down 637rwhp.

1) 6psi with stock, I would certainly get the 2 piece pulley and pulley down now
2) 85 injectors for any bigger cam, now is the time to do that, 3) 160* stat, you'll need it, For a stick, agree with the BTR stage 3.. Too many clutch options. Andy is the man to ask... -Don

Thanks guys for the input. Greatly appreciate it. Thanks Andy, I'll probably message you once more before ordering. Going to try and place my order later this week.
Didn't expect that response for the Stage 3 cam... How are the street manners with that cam? |

Great, moderate idle, drives great. The power doesn't really kick in until 3k-5k rpm.

I daily drive mine with a stick in dfw traffic. Drives fine with no problems. Makes 700rwtq at 2900rpm. Not really to choppy. Great cam. The key is the duration and the relitively low lift numbers. That keeps from pounding your valvetrain to bad. You will love it. |
