HUD out

Drove the Tail of the Dragon this weekend and the HUD was working fine. Got back home, and started the car up Sunday morning, and to my surprise, no HUD Anyone have any idea what it could be? I have checked for a fuse, but all I could find is one that says "display", and it is good. If I stick my hand over the HUD it seems to be lit up, very faintly.

Trust me, I've tried that, multiple times.

2013? I had an issue with my 2013 2LT with the HUD, but mine would intermittently go off and then come back on when i set the cruise and then dim away for good until i redid the cruise.... Is your HUD always out upon cranking or is it intermittent? if the later, its likely a bad connection or so, unless you have a dud of a HUD which I dont think would be the case.

When mine wasn't working I tried every obvious thing. Eventually I got stumped, took off my polarized sunglasses, and behold!

I've had mine in at least 3 times now for the HUD slowly fading out, then coming back on, then slowly fading out... Armed with nearly a dozen videos of the problem, they now have a new HUD on order for me under warranty.

I embarrassed myself at the dealer by doing the same thing. I had just gotten my glasses the day before. I guess polarized sunglasses really work!

Had mine replaced as well. The tech said they have to remove the windshield to take the dash out for this repair! And I thought 2 hours to replace dash lights in my 71 GS was bad.....

My HUD has been replaced and so far, so good. No fading out since then. Time will tell, though. It was always an intermittent thing to begin with.
