Will a Camaro ever come from the factory with a LCD In-Dash screen like the Corvette? - Camaro5 Chevy Camaro Forum / Camaro ZL1, SS and V6 Forums

I'm just curious, every other car in its class such as the Charger, Challenger, Mustang, Corvette, etc has one why hasn't GM came out with an added option possibility for those wanting the LCD screen? Me personally I'd love one and for those who say its because it has Onstar, so does other GM vehicles but yet they come with an option.

Its so dumb its not an option, Or push to start. Theres 15k cars with both. Just add it yourself man, I did for about $700

Its the only thing missing, really. I'm sure I'll hear it'll bring more weight to the vehicle but remember, I'm asking for it to be an "option" not a standard option. I mean now cars are starting to come with blind spot sensors which i'm sure will be incorporated in future years and things like that.

Yeah I know I can always add it myself but, some things I'd rather have from factory and those are just one of those things. I'm just curious why it isn't an option.

The Interior on the Camaro is in serious need of an upgrade - hopefully it'll be one of the changes made for MY 13

When I was shopping the 2011 GT and SS that was one of the biggest turn offs for me about the SS. I am not a fan of the SS interior. And I'm not even talking materials, although I thought the GT (as long as you get the premium, the base interior is a cheap looking) had better materials also, I'm talking the gauge surrounds and the center stack. I just think they're cheesy and ugly, and mounting gauges below the center stack is only slightly better than mounting them inside the glove box, or under the passenger seat.

Not that it matters to me now that I've got the car, but I was glad all those accessories/gadgets weren't standard...I wouldn't want to pay for something I wouldn't use.

I think they will be the standard for these kind of cars in the way way future. For the near future, next 10 years imo, I think that they will remain options you can just check and add to any trim (except maybe the LS).

Kind of like power windows imo
