Wheel Cleaning question?
So my car/wheels are ceramic coating and I only drive my car once in the weekend for a little enjoyment. I do mostly rinseless washes in my garage, with a more thorough foam wash and full detail once a month or so. Wheels are ceramic coated and I also hit them with hydro2 every few months.
What’s a SAFE and easy way to clean wheels? Can I do spray them down with some waterless wash and wipe them clean and dry without tooooo much risk for scratching? Or do I have to minimally pull out the hose to effectively rinse off most of the dust before any contact? At that point I might as well do a full wash on the car.....ya know? Does my frustration/question make sense? Haha. Thanks |

I have similar situation waterless wash followed by full wash every few weeks. I always wash and rinse my rims with water prior to cleanings. These brakes dust a bunch so seems every third drive they are caked and have a light dusting after just one drive.
I’m using dish soap for now but I plan on getting a dedicated wheel cleaner soon. They also are coated with a ceramic nano coat but I’m not taking a chance so a good rinse with water prior to cleaning. Will change these pads to ones that dust less once they wear out cannot justify changing till then. |

If your wheels are coated you should be fine just washing with hose and car wash soap. I like Duragloss wheel cleaner but even orange degreaser will do a good job.

I will use a wheel cleaner, as in my signature, when I am getting ready to prep for coatings, or applying Hydro2 the first time. Other than that I won't use them. Even if they are pH normal, I just think they're too aggressive. Also I found the GYEON WET COAT is the same as Hydro2.

Ah, I misunderstood the question. You definitely can just use a spray bottle.

Rinseless with ECH20
Wheel rinseless with ECH20 Quarterly Reload application Solid 2.5 hours. There is just no FAST way to adequately detail ZL1 wheels. They are so damn intricate. That alone makes me contemplate spending $1,000s for new wheels. |

Mine are Hydro2 coated. I use this to clean them between driving, takes less than 10 minutes to clean them and takes the dust off with no scratches. I buy a new one each spring. (California car cover wheel duster)

I use poorboys world wheel cleaner. I imagine it would strip off any coating but it is truly a spray on and rinse off formula. I bought it after watching a few YouTube videos that showed how well it works. It saves me a ton of time washing my car.

I agree keep using Waterless wash or rinseless wash and you could follow up with a ceramic boost to help maintain your coating.
