Vararam or CAI for 2011 V6? Help me decide
I can either get a Vararam for $290 or a polished CAI for $300. Trying to decide which one to go with. Any input would be appreciated. Would prefer something where I am not going to hear the "whistle".
I used to have a Volant CAI and never had a whistle. Rotofab I have a whistle around 1500 to 2000 RPM. Need to make the decision tonight whether to go with with CAI or Vararam or just stick with the Rotofab.

I am very torn which one to go with. I like the Vararam designs nd concept and also that it isn't around the windshield washer resivor. Reading some threads I have saw some comments that the air in the box makes the whistle from flowing around the resivor.

CAI from Apex - Chase! First class service, Awesome product especially with the w/shield washer relocation kit and the scoop. Sounds mean and my butt Dyno can feel the difference. I am trying to figure out how to install one of these on a 2013 Caddy ATS!

Both will give you some good gains in responsiveness & some in HP. The CAI inc with scoop & washer bottle relocation the HP gains are about equal but the CAI looks better & is insulated to keep air colder. That is just IMHO. Check out the V6 bolt on section for more info & opinions.

So what did you decide? I went with a CAI from APEX purchased yesterday. BTW $300 is heck of a price - at that price for such an outstanding product there should be no hesitation.

By posting in the 2012+/LFX section, you're going to get predominently CAI recommendations as Vararam doesn't make an intake for the LFX. I'm surprised you got as many responses without someone pointing out that you posted in a slighly off-topic section in the first place.
But I digress. Go CAI. John B.
