Getting Impatient

I am starting to get impatient. My friend from work is looking to offload his 2008 Corvette (base) sometime soon. Said he'd give me a good deal since we're friends. Not sure what that would come out to in numbers, but I'd guess around $35,000. It has 9k miles on it, removable hard top, manual tranny, and in perfect condition. Only problem is that it is yellow. Not a fan of yellow, but what do you guys think?

Hold off for my 'maro? Or jump the gun and get the Vette? UGH, decisions.

You ordered...~2 weeks ago and getting impatient? Don't expect too much sympathy If you're willing to shell out $35k for a used 'vette, why did you only order a 1LT?

Yeah, I know I'm not going to get much sympathy, wasn't really asking for it either. However, and seriously no offense here, after configuring the SS model with TT&L, I couldn't justify spending close to $40,000 on the Camaro. For me, that's putting it up in 'Vette territory. Just briefly glancing on ebay motors this morning, I saw most 2008 vettes were 40k+ and I'm pretty confident my friend will to go into the mid $30's for me... that being said, it's a pretty sweet deal IMO.

I think the Camaros styel definitely trumps the Vette, but I think the Vette trumps the Camaro in terms of performance and "status". What say you? Or am I just barking up the wrong tree?

I hate getting cold feet.

Isn't the base model 'Vette engine the LS3, the same as a manual SS Camaro? Consider the total ownership cost of a Corvette vs a Camaro, as well.

IF you are really considering a vette, you nbeed to check out Texas Direct Auto, at texasdirectauto.com, as I type, they have as many as 19 on their lot, its in Houston, they have one that is red, only 2000 miles, and is only $36K. BUT, Vettes are a dime a dozen going down the road..........WAIT FOR YOU CAMARO, the wait will be more that worth it.

I have an 06 vette, and a 2010 2ss...i waited about 7 months for my car, it was well worth the wait, if i sit in my camaro then sit in the vette, the vette feels like cheap interior compared to the camaro...but yes your right the does have better performance, but in my opion other than that the camaro is better in every way...for that matter i'm working a deal right now to trade my vette for another camaro

Just wait a couple years...Camaro's will be everywhere.

I'd pass on the Vette just because it's not the color you want. If you really want a Vette though, ou can find a mid 30's Vette with less miles and the color you want if you look hard enough.

I'd hold out for the Camaro. I'd take a custom built brand new 2010 car over a used 2008 car that isn't all exactly to my liking...

The wait is worth it, get what you want, i picked up my car yesterday after a 12 week wait and it was very hard but after returning now from my cruise for the last 2 hours all i have to say is WOW. I frickin love it, it's exactly what i wanted an an absolute dream, all the waiting stuff and not sleeping...etc well worth it.

that's totally legit. you just have a slightly different perception, and i can respect that. so since you can't justify that $ for the v8, then i would say wait for the Camaro. you even have some room for a few mods (maybe a s/c). the 3.2L has potential...
