Weird. That makes me want to cut a ZL1 rear in half and look at it. Eventually I'll be doing something along the lines of what I posted but may go with an electric fan unit depending on where I place it. The corvettes have those vented spots that are perfect for getting airflow.
But that does explain to some degree why the thing is so heavy. |

All the plumbing is in, just need to install the heat exchanger.

Hey by any chance did you weigh it? I'm curious to know the weight difference there is between the 4 diff's, including the stock unit. I'd say the ZL1 is the heaviest the 9'' next, the hammerhead, then the stock unit.

You would probably be right with the ZL1 being the heaviest. I have not weighed it.

ok I got the weight of the diff by its self with no fluid in it and it weighs 144 lbs.

Wow, that's a beast! That's almost twice the weight of the stock diff! Should hold up to 1K hp? depending on internal parts, but I've yet to see one fail yet.
