Pretty sure that GM's curb weight is with a full tank of fuel. If you're at a true 1/3 tank, then that's 6.27 gal remaining vs 19 gal full. At ~6lbs/gal that's a 76lb difference in fuel weight.

GM gets their numbers with all fluids full. So at 6.25lbs a gallon you are down around 80lbs in fuel so add that to 3820 and you get 3900 which seems about right.

Thanks. Didn't know that. Is it pretty significant? A few pounds?

Not unless you're running jet fuel or diesel. Gas is lighter and is around 6lbs. Even jet fuel we figure 7lbs/gal.

Lightbulb

I ran my old '79 Z28 across the scales about 25 years ago, and it was about 3500 lbs. The extra weight in the 5Gen is in the suspension and structural rigidity?

First the awesome dyno numbers 1le's have been putting down and now this. Im telling you GM did some sneaky behind the back type stuff with this to make it competitive.
