Just maybe....

Maybe we will get our beloved Z/28 this coming year.

"The General Motors brand said it intends to introduce 13 new or "significantly changed" products in the coming year - "13 in '13," according to Chevrolet communications director Michael Albano "

...I'm thinking if we get it in '14 it's gonna be a limited edition send off, low numbers special production followed by a regular production model after with the new style change. It's not gonna hurt them to do that, they have current stuff available and coming out shortly thereafter to bring together if they want.

^^^^ Yes!

Possibly a run of 100 brutes to simply be able to say "Z/28 Lives"... and stay tuned for Gen 6. But, IF made, will be very rare streetable, but not street friendly (roll bar, LS7ish, no back seat etc). Yes... much like original COPO. But all 100 or so GONE B4 you open the email or forum discussion. So, probably look for the Gen 6 street version. ZL1 may live on. May not.

With all these current versions we are getting, a Gen 5 version will likely be meant for the hard core connected and you won't really ever see one on the street. Gen 6, sure, but whole new item.

Hmmm, that brings up a thought.... It seems logical that while developing the current COPO race camaro that GM would have tested Z/28 parts along the way. Combine this with the known Z/28 parts on the ZL1......
Which makes a 5th Gen Z/28 alittle bit closer to reality, possibly, maybe, wishing

....I think COPO is a museum piece. My take from the tea leaves I have seen is that it will be a limited production high HP send off. Hard to get, except for those in the inner circle.

LS9 in the last year ZL1 to compliment a LS7 powered Z/28.

...but may I add that the Z/28 name is hallowed, which comes from a source that we hold with much respect. Many have argued the weight of the current Holden platform will not be suitable to bring the badge back because we can not put a power to weight ratio that will be a conqueror against the competition in it's current form. Take the ZL1 for example, a Camaro for all time, that will be a second seat to the Mustang competitior in it's class on the big end of the performance option line<quarter mile wise only, and a driver's race beyond that>. Fresh, new, out of the boix, with cutting edge GM technology and engineering, coming soon to a dealership near you, will be the debut I anticipate moving forward. A new beginning...and a clear cut advantage to take the high ground without doubt. We do not need to rush the Z name back into the fold.

I am a little skeptical. After seeing two generations of the Z28 have nothing to really offer, I am very skeptical. I wish that they would fulfill my dreams and create the Camaro of all time but I think that they have done that already. I honestly don't see them building a car that would be any better than their flagship corvette. Maybe we will all be surprised or maybe we will build our own.

You guys are building the Z28 up and beyond what it was and should be. A 1LE with an LS7 and ZL1 brakes with some better aero added would be the best Z28 ever, and an extremely competitive car on a track.
