Talked with Gerry at Rodger's Chevrolet - apparently all of the 2014 ZL1's they have (and they have a lot ) display "Bar" as the oil pressure units. Regardless of what setting. He says he contacted the appropriate GMer and they are looking into it and/or what needs to be done to fix it.

When I get home tonight I'll check it again - not that I think it'll magically have fixed itself, but I want to see if the physical number of bars that are displayed is the same. If they are different, then it means that the system does the unit conversion but just doesn't display the correct units. If the are the same.....well then somebody dropped the ball when they redid the DIC programming.

Gerry is great just like everyone else there. He helped me with my Cruze Eco when every other dealer though I was insane and because of him I got the issue fixed.

But now for the question that I am sure several people are wondering. What is the first mod going to be?

That's easy - Fire extinguisher.

Now what I do after that - that's the question

It's an option on the Vehicle Information DIC menu

For the folks who wanted to see the battery voltage lol

Also realized that the DIC volt gauge is 7 - 17, but the four gauge pack volt gauge reads 9 - 19. And don't even get me started on the oil temp gauges not matching....

It is really fun to watch the boost gauge swing from vacuum to boost when I have accelerate out of the twisties though.

Have I mentioned how much I love this car? Well just in case I haven't yet

Holy crap those oil temps are way off from each other. But How's the G meter on the DIC?

Pretty cool - I kind of treat it like a game though. Just wishing there was a way I could see my all time highest.

Oh - I also wish there was a way to get my G forces for forward and backward as well as left and right. For the sole reason of I think it'd be cool to see.

Wouldn't be that hard though, I mean the G force code is already written you'd just have to copy/paste the left/right G force code and rename the values. Then copy the display side, transpose it and bam - four way G force meter.

Drove my little sister to school today (she wanted to ride in my new "go-fast" car. Needless to say she loved it, which I thought was funny because she hated riding in Kaylee. She kept telling me how cool it was that I got special seats that "hugged her as we drove."

Found a way to save weight - manual Recaros

I'll bet someone a dollar that the Z/28 comes with the manual Recaro option.

G meter does look cool and I'm glad they added it to the camaro line now. Reminds of my Cruze Eco and the MPG on the DIC it has a High score Average readout that always makes me feel like a old school video game lol.

But I think it was confirmed at the fest that by using the manual recaros they were able to save a decent amount of weight. I can't remember the number but I want to say the motor and all everything else for the normal seats weighs about 15 pounds. Don't quote me on that though.

From the Ashes: The Stig's Ashen Gray ZL1 [COTW 1/16/12]

Doing some light reading - but needless to say, the oil pressure reading on the DIC doesn't make sense.

Apparently the metric reading is in kPa's.

I'm also missing the "blank" option on my DIC.
