Jannetty Racing Installing ADM CAI Tomorrow What To Expect?

I guys I am new here, 6 days ago I picked up my 2011 Black 2SS/RS. I changed the oil to Mobile 1 at 250 miles and at 550 miles for breakin. I will have 1,000 miles on it when I get to Jannetty tomorrow morning, they are installing a street ADM CAI for me. I was wondering what to expect since the filter is closed in a airbox will it still change the sound of the car like on my vettes or not? Also will their be a noticable improvement in performance? I know I really need a cat back to get the full benefit of it. I was also undecided on whether I should drive the car a little longer to break it in before I have them install a SCT tune or if I should do it when I get the CAI installed. I would have to retune the car after the cat back so I was thinking about waiting. I would like your advice since I am new to the Camaro it was kind of a out of no where purchase on my part. Thanks for the help

If you are tuning the car....why not pop for a set of long tubes and full exhaust to go with that Cold air kit....your warranty will be gone anyway...may as well take advantage of that and do it right..just sayin

You need a tune in my opinion to get the most out of the intake. It will work w/ out a tune, but it changes the airflow and therefore would be more optimized if you let Ted tune it for you. The Torque management in our cars is awful as well. It will run way better with a tune imho.

sounds like you are WAY too worried. 500 i break-in is more of a myth than anything, let alone 1000. changing your oil twice was overkill, but no harm.

I would just get the tune now and be done with it. adding a catback isn't going to make much if any difference in your tune. I wouldn't worry about re-tuning it after every mod, unless its something more significant like a cam or headers

The whole process shouldn't take more than 1hr and the last 15-20min of that will be doing the tuner inputs. Tune it now and be done with it. It's well known, and Ted will tell you also, a catback does little to nothing for performance, even if you tune for it. The stock exhaust is that good, just not very loud. If you want power gains from the exhaust, you have to go to LT's or replace the cats with highflows or delete them.

I got a CAI, Dynotech headers, and a tune from Jeannetty. I would recommend you do the same. The car sounds and runs like it should have off the dealership lot. Trust me if you do this package you will be very happy....

Do it exactly like the above, but with our intake...you will not be disappointed!

Here is a recent dyno of a 2010 manual with ADM STREET INTAKE and ARH HEADERS and no tune.

I am doing the intake because it will not affect my warranty my dealer said but I did not ask about a tune I know better. I was going to get the SCT and just change it to stock before servicing but I have read that they can tell it has been flashed and I do not want to void my warranty after a week. With the intake alone is their a noticeable difference in the sound of the car?

Question: If I were to get only one thing done tomorrow what would increase power more on a stock car the ADM CAI or the SCT Tune at Jannetty? I am waking up at 4am to get there and want to make up my mind any help or input would be great. Thanks

Is your car an auto? If it is get the sct. While it won't make more power than the cai, and that's not even that much, the driveability will be so much better and feel like you gained way more power, even though you haven't. Plus Ted can mail it to you and you can save gas and time.

If your thinking about doing a tune you might as well do both. Honestly, I cant tell you which one is going to give you more hp or sound better. I ended up getting the tune done before I recieved the CAI and headers and the tune alone woke up the car. But like some have posted above if you get a CAI a tune will make it run alot better.

Im not sure how far your driving to get to Jeannetty's but if your drivinf a pretty good distance you might as well make the trip worth it.

Just my $.002

Good luck to ya which ever way you go...

LT's/Exhaust, CAI, and Tune are like 1,2 3. I would not do one or two of these only all 3 at once ( if you have the cash).

For some, money may be an issue. Maybe the op only wants to spend a certain amount tomorrow and then maybe a little more down the road. That plan works too. Yes, the headers tune and cai go well together but that's pricey.
