2011 SLP Supercharged Camaro 2SS/RS ZLX 1 of 1 700+RWHP, 3500 Miles

2011 Chevrolet Camaro 2SS/RS SLP Supercharged ZLX

$60,000 OBO, that's pennies on the dollar for a one of a kind, 700 RWHP Rocket!!

The Camaro is located in Southern New Jersey & with the right price, I will split shipping costs.

For those of you that have followed my build, you know that this has been an all out, no expense spared, open checkbook build from Day 1. You can view my build thread by clicking my signature at bottom of post.

Here's a little history on the car, then a summarized list of components.
I moved to California from NJ in March, 2011 for my wife's 2 year contract position with the government, so this was my project after selling my sport fishing boat back in NJ.

I am selling the car ONLY because I have a 2014 C7 Stingray ordered from the largest Vette dealer in the world, and they just happen to be 20 minutes away. I also have an allocation at my friend's dealership, so I'm covered either way. I really never thought I would be selling this Camaro, especially after all the time, money & effort put into it, I thought this would be my lifer. But when I saw the new Stingrays and having owned a Corvette, it was enough to persuade me to put my Camaro up for sale.

This is not a desperation sale, this Camaro is basically brand new with 3500 miles on it, and all parts have even less miles on them. To have a company like SLP, Hennessy, Livernois or Lingenfelter build a similar car would start at about $75,000 & up. But I know that there's plenty of people out there that intend to buy a Camaro and then let the mod bug bite. Well, if you want to do it right and produce a world class super car capable of performing better than cars costing $250,000+, then be prepared to cover every aspect of the car from engine internals, to drivetrain, suspension, rear end, axles, and even bolts and expect to run into the 6 figures to do it right. This build was done correctly from the start, with no corners cut and basically took over 18 months to get where it is. The majority of the important stuff, Engine, Suspension, Drivetrain was done by the Best in the West, Renowned Late Model Muscle Car EFi Specialist, Ryne Cunningham & Team of Cunningham Motorsports in Murietta, California. Since the build was so thorough and included so many upgrades, the car has actually spent more time in the shop's garage and on it's dyno, than my garage and the streets.

I actually started the planning of the build long before I purchased the Camaro. While I was living in California and I'd fly back east, I would rent a Camaro SS from Avis, and after 3 rentals my mind was made up. After seeing all the aftermarket parts and discovering this forum and seeing all the awesome cars here, it really motivated me to make something that would really stand out from the crowd.....And so it began..

I ordered the car in early October, 2011 with my request being that it be a black on black, 2SS/RS loaded with sunroof, leather, no stripes & LS3/M6 Engine/Transmission. The car was located in Nevada towards the end of October, and sent enclosed trailer to the dealership, Paso Robles Chevrolet. I purchased the Magnuson TVS2300 from SLP (Street Legal Performance) of Toms River, NJ primarily based on their long running history of building special modified vehicles for GM for over 3 decades. The supercharger arrived at the dealership in December, 2011 and installed shortly afterwards, along with the SLP LoudMouth II exhaust. So for the 2 months prior to the supercharger being installed, I completed the break in procedure for the brand new 2SS/RS and put roughly 1100 miles on the car. So the actual supercharger has 2400 miles on it, and almost every other component has even less miles on them. I've also done my best to include date & milage install below, to let you know that you buying basically a new car with new parts and the break in's have pretty much been completed. Every receipt for every part & labor is included in a nearly 6" folder. I am extremely organized, have left no stone unturned, used only the best parts and you will not find a better professionally built vehicle, with the performance this car has that rivals the likes of Hennessy, Linginfelter, SLP ZL cars, that start at $75,000 for base packages.

The car has been built & tuned for reliability, drivability and safety. The car produces over 700 RWHP at 12lbs of Boost safely. It has run Torco Octane Accelerator since the first tank full of gas, since while in California the highest octane was 91, the Torco adds 4-5 octane per 32 oz bottle per 20 gallons of fuel producing 95 Octane. Now that it's on the East Coast and we have 93/94 octane and I still continue to run Torco, it can be tuned to 99/100 octane(which is like race fuel but nowhere near the cost) thus creating even more power and can safely run close to the 800 HP level should you desire,as the parts used are done for even more power. This car is not my daily driver, has been garaged since day one, never driven in the rain, and was transported from Cali to NJ in an enclosed car carrier.

As you read the parts list, you'll see that I did not wait for parts to break before replacing them. For instance, how long would the stock clutch or axles last at that power level, I didn't want to find out. I wanted to build it correctly from the start and not take any steps backwards, and make a 1 off vehicle that was second to none.
There are many parts still in the boxes, because of the timing of our move back to the East Coast and they are also noted below in bold.

Aside from being Car of the Week on Camaro5.com, the ZLX has also appeared in April Issue of GM High Tech Performance, the May Issue of Camaro Performers Magazines, and most recently was invited to be one display indoors at the GM Nationals in Carlisle, PA, but due to unforeseen circumstances out of my control I could not attend, but I already have a signed invitation from the show's director Tyler Staley, to again be on display indoors for the 2014 show.

If you intend to buy a new Camaro and want to modify it to the 650-800 RWHP level correctly, leaving no stone unturned, then I urge you to consider this vehicle, because to do it correctly, professionally, safely using only the best parts and shops with years of late model muscle car performance experience and only the best paint shops used to create a flawless 1 of kind Camaro, you WILL be looking at $100,000+ to replicate. If you want to lower the horsepower, that can be done quite simply by adding a larger 3.8" pulley and a new tune. The car drives like stock, with the exception of the supercharger whine, the old school rumble of the CMS custom spec'd blower cam, the exhaust tone and the fact that it's nearly a 200 mph car, that drives like it's on rails. I just got done the break in period for the Mcloed RXT Twin Disc clutch, and it feels exactly like stock and just like every review I have read for it.

Only the best hands have touched this car, from Cunningham Motorsports, to the body shops that have done my custom paint work and body panels, the car is a flawless show winner. I must advise you, it is not for the inexperienced driver or the faint of heart, I have had owned many high performance cars, and driven many exotics and this car is by far the fastest car I've ever been in and just as reliable and turn key as a 2011 should be.

So, after all that typing, what's the price?
And did SLP build the car?

Maybe instead of worrying about how much typing I did, you'll read it and answer both your questions.

So you used an SLP part, and labeled the car as an SLP, but SLP didn't build the car, Cunningham built it.
It's a little confusing?
And similar cars by the bigtime builders would be $75,000.
So is that what you're asking?
Or are you wanting to get your $110,000 back out of it so you can buy a slower vette?
Just curious, it's a little confusing.

Based on reading the OP's first post its hard to tell what the asking price is, sucks though even with all the mods you wont get more than 60-70K for it, id suggest parting it and returning to as close as stock as you can and sell the car. Best of luck on whatever you decide.

Bozz, there is no asking price posted in the thread.

Only this at the bottom in big, bold red letters.
Please feel free to send SERIOUS Offers, as this is a serious car.

We're not talking about a few bolt on here's, but I appreciate the suggestion. I'll try to explain below. But I certainly know I'm not the only one out there that wants the best of the best when it comes to every aspect of the car, and just the thought of driving a stock Camaro is so boring when you can build a real monster or have someone build it for you! And quite honestly $60-$70K offered would be about what's expected.

I enjoy your subtle sarcasm General, are you even the market for an upgrade on your 1SS or do you just enjoy trolling the Marketplace forum, and commenting on them? Are you just acting stupid, I'm just curious, because you're very confused reading my thread....This was a favorite, "Or are you wanting to get your $110,000 back out of it so you can buy a slower vette?" Slower Vette? Slower than what, your 1SS which is either 400 HP or 426 HP at the flywheel, so maybe 350 RWHP max? I can buy 2 "slower" Vettes, should I be lucky enough to find a sucker willing to pay what I've spent building my car. After looking at my car, does it seem that I'm the type of person who's going to leave my Vette stock? Just curious?

I really thought I was very detail oriented and I even directed you over to my build thread, it's very easy to find as it's usually on the first page for the past year & half, and all you have to do is click my signature. But I admit it is rather long, as I've explained basically everything I've done to the car since day 1 of the build.

I don't know maybe it would've been easier had I referred you to look up your answers in the 2 magazines the car was recently in, you're answers are there as well, (and clearly they DID THEIR RESEARCH TO SEE IF I WAS MISREPRESENTING MY CAR}except of course for your question on the the asking price. Which hopefully by now you've seen that you can me a serious offer, and there's no posted price.

So I see you did some reading as you saw that I spent over $100K on this build & to buy a base packaged car from one of those companies would start around $75K, but no where in my thread did I ask to recoup the $100K+ spent? I used those figures in order for a potential buyer to use when making an educated offer. Clearly you're smart enough to know that the minute you drove your 1SS off the lot after shelling out what, $33,000? That you'd probably get $24-25K if you're lucky and not knowing your car, condition, milage, etc....

Have you seen SLP's Panther 700HP (That rating's also at the flywheel) that came out early this year?

Look familiar? I started mine in October of 2011, before anything was even announced by SLP. Check out the mods on it and then check mine, nearly identical, but a lot of the parts I used were much better quality. For instance, SLP uses Eibach Lowering Springs and slaps $50 to $75 on the price and calls them SLP lower springs. They do that for quite a few of the SLP parts.

Let me give you a little history on SLP. Did you know that Shelby Automotive just recently bought them and immediately closed their long standing location in Toms River, NJ and basically told all the employees there that they were out of a job unless the decided to move to Michigan? That's pretty f**ked up if you ask me, but hey that's big business. So you see General SLP has changed dramatically within the past 2 months.

When I dealt with SLP back in September of 2011, I had moved from NJ to California 6 months prior, and I inquired about getting one of their cars. But I wasn't interested in Houndstooth seats, ZL wheel caps, SLP embroidered headrest, or any other bullshit. I was interested in them because of their long standing relationship with GM stretching almost 4 decades and they offered a warranty on there SLP Supercharger kits, something that in the past was unheard of. But it also came with it's restrictions.

So back then there were 3 ways to purchase an SLP car, if you want all the bells and whittles and $25,000-$50,000 add ons, you had to ship your car to Toms River, NJ and they'd give you the full monty. Another way was to purchase one directly from one of their small group of dealers, most of which were located back on the East Coast, and again came with all the SLP paraphernalia and high mark up. And lastly, you could have their Stage 1 kit shipped directly to a GM dealership or one of their approved GM Certified vendors, like say Cunningham Motorsports for instance. He's authorized to work on SLP cars, at least he was a few month ago, not sure how it works now that the Ford people have taken over.

So are you beginning to understand how it works? No, I didn't get the fancy 1 of 250 built plaques for an additional $500 since it wasn't put together in Toms River, NJ. I was directed to Rich Hill, the newly appointed Director of Operations for the West Coast, and in collaboration with Paso Robles Chevrolet my vehicle was the first SLP car put together on the West Coast...All of this is clearly stated in my build journal, and if I had any interest in buying a car of this caliber, I'd research everything the author had to say about it and read his journal from front to back to learn all about the car. But that's just me, that's why there's Asti Spumonti and Crystal, different strokes for different folks.

I took the liberty of making copies of some of my receipts from SLP and I hope this little history lesson has helped inform you that there are other cars besides the ones that say ZL327, ZL427, ZL454, ZL560, ZL585, ZL600 & ZL700, that are SLP cars and just not driving around with an SLP license plate frame calling themselves SLP cars.

My Declaration Page for my 5yr/100K mile warranty from SLP

My initial bill from SLP where it clearly states purchase of the SLP Stage 1 kit and warranty, and how it was shipped directly to the dealership and not my home, because that was their requirements in order for it to be an SLP car with warranty. You'll have to excuse me blurring out the important stuff, there's a lot of weirdos on this worldwide web

Even Magnuson gave me a 3yr/36K warranty

So you see General Lee, if I also would've ordered the SLP seat package for $1200, I could've gotten seat skins that came in any color combo I wanted with a Bowtie on them or maybe the SLP Boost Gauge and cheap steering column mount pod for $330, or how about their "Blackwing Stage 2" cold air intake for $429. I pulled my original Blackwing intake off quicker than shit through a goose, partially because I was getting the MPD1 true Ram Inducted Z-Force hood and it works perfectly with the CAI, INC Cold Air Intakes and Bill from CAI & Roger from EmblemPros went above and beyond to help me get my custom, no plexi glass, hyrdodipped lid, and the Blackwing tube is garbage.

So I hope I have been able to spread some light and answer your questions and have proved that I no way misrepresented my car in any way, shape or form, and that I HAVE NOT posted an asking price. I have given every minute detail possible in a 35 page+ Members Build Journal, the title is easy to find, it states Car of the Week 3/26/12 when the car wasn't even halfway done, 2 magazines articles give the gist of the build, numerous sponsorships given to the car, and the privilege of being selected out of thousands to be one of 35 or so on display indoors at the GM Nationals 2013, they even offered me a spot indoors for 2014 too. So that means some lucky individual will be able to show off the ZLX at next years biggest GM show in the world. It could even be you General!

So as for pricing it's real simple, I've spent over $100K(every receipt will go to new owner) to build a world class Camaro capable of out performing most super cars costing a quarter million or more, but then the potential buyer needs to determine a fair price he's willing to pay to have one such vehicle, and save him the aggravation, time and money of building it himself. I am fully aware that I'm not going to make money on this build, that wasn't the reason I did this project, that's why I was honest and said how much I have into it. Will I settle for .50, .60, or .75 cents on the dollars spent? Or the other option, is someone can always build it themselves and spend all the money on the best parts, labor, time without a car, and seeing what works and what doesn't work together.

I've already received an offer after one day, and who knows maybe next week I will post an asking price?. But right now the choice is yours if you're in the market for a one of a kind, fast as the devil proven performer, that's turnkey and ready to give you the ride of your life.

So did SLP build the car or not?
FYI SLP panther has been out for over a year now.
You're making too much of this.
Hope you sell it.
