standard vs automatic

I am planning to get a 2012 1ss and I was gonna get a standard but have been hearing many bad things about standards..so I can't decide which to get and if the automatic is worth the money

You gotta decide if you want to change gears or if you want the car to do it for ya! My vote is for manual!

If you care about performance I would go manual.

Research AFM (active fuel management) on the auto trans then look at 1st and 2nd gear grind issues on the manual trans. Decide which one you'd rather live with and then you'll have your answer.

You can always tune out AFM, however that is a great way of looking at a question that has been asked ohhhhhh, at least one thousand times.

I was dead set on buying an auto. Then I drove a manual for the heck of it. I haven't looked back since! Stick is just way to much fun!!!!

Don't forget crappy clutch feel and how difficult it is to get smooth shifts because clutch doesn't engage till the last inch of the clutch pedal.

I went with the auto because I hate driving manual. Here in NJ it's too much stop and go. I like to sit back and relax when I drive and for me, driving a manual isn't relaxing.

$30k+ purchase that you'll have to live with

I went with standard because that what I wanted.
