P0300 Code & Service Stabilitrak Error

Hey guys,

I was driving to work this morning and everything was fine until put my foot back on the gas after going through the tollbooth and the engine started sputtering. I got a CEL, and warning messages to service Stabilitrak. The Stabilitrak lights will go out after driving for a bit except after for the CEL light, but when I push down on the gas all warnings come back and it runs like crap, reduced power and won't shift into a higher gear.

I checked the codes and all I got was P0300 which I have read is a general misfire. Is this misfire a product of a Stabilitrak system issue or is the Stabilitrak warning a product of the misfire?

I have a 2011 SS L99 with JRE tune, Solo Performance high flow cats and cat-back exhaust, all else is stock. I have had this setup for 20K+ miles with no issues. The car about 32K now.

I just had new rotors and pads done 2 weeks ago and tires replaced 5 days ago so I thought it might be a loose sensor. What do you guys think it could be? Should I flash back to stock and see if this clears etc.

Thanks a bunch!

I just returned it to stock and it runs like crap. I hope it is just a sensor!

I'm no expert, but I had a similar experience with mine. I had two cracked spark plugs. Might be worth a look.

300 code should be a spark plug issue, would try that first.

Are plugs covered under warranty? I just dropped it off at the dealer, but they can't get to it until Thursday. I don't want a huge bill.

I'm not sure about that. It might be considered general maintenance and not covered. I haven't had a warranty to worry about for quite some time. However, they should provide you with an estimate before fixing. If it's the plugs or a loose wire, you could fix it yourself.

I will let them run the diagnostic and see what they say. If plugs are supposed to be 100K mile plugs, they should cover that, but we all know how that goes. If they says it is plugs and won't cover i will just change them myself.

Thanks!

JRT,

Sorry to hear about your P0300 code and Service StabiliTrak concerns. I realize how concerning that would be and apologize for any displeasure. Keep us posted on the results of your dealer visit. If necessary, I can contact their designated Customer Experience Manager if you have any additional questions. We'll look forward to your updates .

Mine was running line crap the other day, turned around went back home. Couldn't find anything wrong. Cleaned the CAI filter, that took care of the problem. Check out the simple stuff.
