camaro vs. shelby super snake?
what do you guys think would win. my friend at school thinks that the super snake will win. but he says that it would have to be a stock vs. stock race, so wouldnt that mean that the camaro would be racing a normal mustang???

Well, I would say more info would be needed before this could be answered.
What kind of race? Stoplight to stoplight, drag strip, road course, etc. You mention stock, and a Super Snake could be considered stock since it comes from the "factory" that way (maybe not the Ford factory, but it isn't really aftermarket parts either). Oh, there's only one more thing you need to figure out....what Camaro? You want the one with the V8, right? Which V8? How much power does that put out? What kind of tranny is in it? How about tires? Brakes? (I know, those Brembos right?)....you get the point....there is too much still unknown/being speculated on to really answer the question. From what we've been told, if there is a "comparable to the Super Snake" Camaro, then I'd probably guess that the Camaro wins. But, we don't know that that will even happen. Odds are it will not. Not from the factory anyway, and then there goes the "stock" portion of this question. |

well, IMHO, if u raced a "stock" cough cough $80,000 car against a stock $30,000 car, chances are the snake would win on the 1/4. but then u also have to figure, is it the under 600 hp factory warranty version or the 700+ hp no warranty super snake? but yeah, my money would be on the snake, just remember, there's nothing fair about that race.

Wow are you guys serious? I drive a 2003 cobra $40,000 new not 80k its a 390hp stock 0-60 in 4.7 seconds and in no way can a stock 2002 camaro SS take it in any kind of race. (sorry) My car isn't stock anymore but WOW. Don't get me wrong I'm a camaro fan but facts are facts. I'm really looking forward to a 436 hp LS3 2010 camaro that stock can destroy all stock mustangs including the new GT500KR. Even tho the KR edition has 540 stock hp. Its so heavy and the gears suck. I believe the new camaro with the LS3 and same gears as the 2008 vette will dominate over all snakes.

The GT500 at stickered aat 42,500 last I checked. Dealer markup = 10+k to sell the gt500's at around 70-80k.
Also, the Super Snake is a limited edition (but what isn't on a mustang), if you're talking about stock vs. stock I would say use production models, you'd have base mustang, GT and GT500. Camaro would have base 6 cyl, entry level v8 and the hi po v8. If he wants to race a Super Snake as call it stock, he'd better help you pay for a Berger or some other dealer edition camaro with a bigger engine and possibly forced induction. |
