Insider Info, Could be bad for SS - Camaro5 Chevy Camaro Forum / Camaro ZL1, SS and V6 Forums

So i was told by a person, who has connections to the Oshawa Plant, i am not disclosing any names first because i dont know it, second because i would not want anyone to get anyone fired and third because i don't know the severity of the problem. I was told that the SS may be delayed because they are having problems with L99 auto. Only the auto, and only for the SS. I have no other info, i wish i did, but im sure that there might be other members who can calborate on this. You don't have to believe me, but i am just putting it out there. If you've ordered the LS or LT or LT2, with auto, you have anything to worry about, as for the SS owners, you probably wont have to worry either but i dont know all the info.

I got a 2SS w/manual so doesn't sound like a problem for me but hate to see a delay on any of the Camaros!

Hopefully it's not too bad and no delay will happen but if it does and you have an auto SS on order...hang in there!

I thought they weren't offering an L99 with a manual? So do you mean all L99s? I dont see why that would be a problem its been used in other vehicles I believe...

I dont see why this thread will cause problems that are big enoughfor this thread to be closed, and yes you only get automatic with the L99, LS3 for the manual, sorry if i confused anyone

Yeah i dont know why it would cause any problems either, could be just a small bug for the L99s

Even if it were true, better a delay than putting out a poor quality car, like the GTR and their launch control feature!

I understand the 6.1 Hemi Challenger is having trouble with the manual transmission/clutch and that is why they only have a few out!!

Dodge is still shipping 6.1 Hemi autos, they tried to sell me one on the showroom floor for MSRP of $44589!!!!

The term "quality" and Dodge can not be used in the same sentence! As of the release of the Caravan they forgot how to design a quality automatic transmission. BTW - my local Dodge dealer has two Challengers on the lot and tell me they can't find a buyer for either. However, still a nice looking car!
