In the Wind is meant for the Harley rides!!
I believe there have been issues with how the sunroofs drain to where puddles of water were seen in the back seat. May want to check service bulletins or issues section. My "Family" car, 2008 SS Impala, has a sun roof and it works fine. Can't have a sun roof on the muscle car.

lol! Yeah, I can close it.
I've also not had a problem with any leaking, popping up, not seating properly or any of the other problems other members have "heard" about. I've gone from -30C to +30C, and all sorts of weather in between and have yet to have any problems whatsoever. And on a beautiful, sunny day like today, it is great for cooling the cabin before the A/C kicks in. Especially in a black car with black interior. Like I said earlier, if you want it, can fit in it and have the patience to wait 'till you find it, you should get it.

My last couple of cars had sunroofs and I really enjoyed haviing them. Before I bought the Camaro I sat in one with the SR and decided against getting it. I am about 6', but I have a long torso and I didn't like the lack of headroom. I say all this to say that I think you have the right idea

6'1" here and the sunroof was a no go for me. I didn't want it anyway, but the car i test drove had one, and my head brushed against the roof.

I too am among the taller ( 6'5" +) and broad shouldered/thicker sized owners and daily operators of a sunroofed Gen5 that have had no negative issues with fitment/head room height or usablity. In fact I traded up to the Gen5 from a convertible Corvette that I had owned for several years.......one that I fit perfectly in with the top up on. Though with the roof down and the seat lowered fully I still could look over the windshield with-out trying.........and hence realized the likelyhood of a very permanent decapitation in the event of a roll over. I must say having the Gen5 with the sunroof option, plenty of cabin space, headroom and a clear line of sight through the windshield all pluses and a much safer feeling in the event of the earlier mentioned problematic accident senario.....just my .02

i feel the car is too claustrophobic without the sun roof. I used it often.

You do know you can lower the seats? I am 6' 3" and I dont have any issues with my head rubbing on the top of the roof.

6'3" with a sunroof and love it. Even when its closed it lets in light and makes the car feel nicer.

I agree with greenisgood! Having the option of an opening in the roof is awesome. Also the option of just letting in a little more light.
It does change the feel of the inside as well. |
