That's assuming the ZL1 weighs 4100+ lbs, something that has yet to be released.... If the weight is around 4000 or less I'd have to give the big advantage to ZL1. If the weight is more than 4100 I'd have to give the small advantage to ZL1. Weight aside, ZL1 takes the cake in every category as compared to the GT500. We will see.

It's the 556 Ft Lbs of torque that is going to be the big difference IMHO! Plus the fact that the Chevy has the high tech controls to handle all that power. The Mustangs are a handful with the power that they have now. This ZL1 is going to put all of this power down in a usable manner. It's going to blow our minds I think! PTM and MSRC, etc.....

Well said. Advanced suspension, electronic controls, bigger tires plus added downforce and better weight distribution ... the mustang might as well have 500 HP.

About time

I'm definitely liking what I'm seeing and reading, the ZL1 will not disappoint.

Quick question, what's with the small vents located on the hood cowl in this photo?

The strange thing is it's not to be found in these shots. Are these two different silver ZL1's?

Don't get it confused I love the car I just think they could have done more with similar mods and gotten more power out of it
Your stuck too much on just the power numbers, great and yes you can make more by modding your current engine. But what you are failing to see is that this car is getting parts that's shared with a 68,000(CTS-V) and 120,000(ZR-1). I mean those parts along are going to run you and with these things coming standard on this car for well in the 50-60 grand range, I can tell you 100% sure that this car will put down its power alot better then what you are making and probably will run faster. What good is a bunch of power without the correct parts to put it down. So yeah keep upgrading your engine but this car is track ready and drag ready right out the box. Just adding power to your current car still doesn't make it track ready, so in the end you still spend more then just buying a underpowered ZL1.

Here's something funny, the new gt500 is suppose to have quad exhaust like the zl1.
