Damaged Camaro Support Group

I thought I would start a thread for those of us whose Camaros were damaged in transport or even worse shortly after taking ownership. I dont have a pic of the damaged mirror since it was removed prior to my arrival to the dealership but here is pic of the duct tape job to cover the mounting hole in the door.

You should PM the others.

These damages are actually making me angry, even though my own Camaro hasn't even been pulled yet.

Why would they put duct tape on it? Now the glue from the duct tape is going to be a pain to get off..

I think its up to 5 damaged Camaro5 members cars and 3 who's cars failed QC inspections. Not the start GM needed.

This stuff happen on all cars, it sucks but with mirrors that do not fold back it will happen more. There is one at my dealer with the same exact issue!

ouch, not good. im really dissapointed, just whaaaaaat were they doing with delaying this car so much in the first place??? i thought all these delays and things and last minute quality checks were suposed to fix these nuances and make these things not possible. looks like that did absolutely nothing........lol.
5+3=8, not bad consedering they have made over 5 thousand cars.
well at least all this stuff is under warrenty.lol.

GM's QC people aren't letting these cars come out of the factory damaged. QC people aren't the ones saying "oh this one's got only one mirror, it's good to go." These cars were damaged by the people/companies shipping them. A QC check at the factory won't prevent the guy offloading the car from dropping a tie-down chain on a fender, etc. And so far, in each case we've heard about from the guys on here, GM and their dealerships are doing everything in their power to make it right for the customer.
(it's just like when you order something from Amazon.com to be mailed to you, and then the box shows up half crushed. it didn't come from amazon.com or wherever that way, but was damaged by the Postal Service.)

Didn't I read the last delay was to make sure QC was going to be as good as GM can make these cars?

I hope these are just start up anomalies. To me that would include shipping and handling.

It's called human error, the transports are resposible for this damage plain and simple.

EIGHT cars .... EIGHT cars out of 8 THOUSAND (NOT counting CFTs)... think about it ... thats really not that bad.

Come on guys, I know it sucks to be THE guy whos care is damaged but seriously, look at the odds, this IS after all the real world and sh*t happens. Lets NOT get on a "GM Bashing Bandwagon" here over such small numbers. If it were 5 or 10% ... I could see being worried but to get your panties in wad over minor damage (mostly due to delivery people who dont even work for GM) ... well ... I just dont think we're being realistic with our expectations here. As for the cars that didnt pass QC, well duh .... thats the whole point of QC! Be glad they caught it, and are fixing it BEFORE you get it instead of having to bring it back and be in a Saturn rental while your friends and neighbors ask "where's your Camaro?"

This is the Internet age , everything gets out and everything is known. This is the most highly anticipated car in a long while so it's getting all this extra attention. All this stuff happens to new cars and cars in general but you never heard about before. Please remain calm and realize this is a small percentage of the vehicles.

Yeah I am pissed my car is damaged, but it is not GM's fault. It is transporters fault.

Also remember most cars you buy off the lot NOT running down and picking them up off the truck. My car would of been fixed and then put on the lot for sale. And it is not just GM cars, a guy I know who works for Honda told me the have the same issues and have had to replace hood's, fix paint and fix dings.

But you would never know this unless you ordered a car and got called to get down there as soon as the car comes in.

Just my 2 cents.

It pisses me off when it rains but theres nothing I can do about it and it's really not aanyones fault. Accidents are going to happen. I just wish everyone was like me and never made mistakes.
