Sorry to hear about your engine - What's the replacement going to run you?

If an old stlye oil gauge was installed you would see the needle bouncing. I don't think these new gauges see air in the oil system, indicating low level

This. At what point does buying a used ls3 become more viable?

Probably the same price at the end of the day. Sell the supercharger and recoup your money for long tube headers, intake and 420+rwhp..

Not knock at the v6 guys just saying if your replacing the engine misewell go for displacement as there is always an engine for sale on here.

Used ls3 would require a lot more changes to the accessories. Computer, fuel pump .... Not to sure it would work out $ wise.
An IPF supercharged v6 is pretty impressive in my book !

Wow I didn't think an IPF engine would blow before an RX engine BUT like others have said I really do not think it was the supercharger / tune, but we may never know. More likely that it was the typical LLT oil conception goblin in our engine. That's one of the reasons I traded mine it, that and the dreaded timing chain issue..

Good luck with everything!

Wait- what? You traded in your Camaro V6? Did I miss that, or have I had another mini-stroke?

Have to agree.

In my world...I'd really love a SC'd, LT header V6.....and if I could somehow magically know it wasn't going to blow itself up due to oil consumption I'd be extremely satisfied.

Become like me ! Checking my oil every few days. Can you say paranoid ! So far I have only had to add oil once between changes. But this doesn't stop me from checking. In fact I think I'm going to go out to the garage and check the oil on the camaro & Subaru.

That was another lurking issue in the back of my mind along with potential timing chain issues. The way I see it, I avoided a ticking time bomb.
