Had an electric one at one point, thing was awful lol. Had no pressure whatsoever, just a hair more than the hose itself lol. I know it wasn't the best of the best though. Lasted about a year before it started to crack and all the plastic connections started to break. Vowed to get a real nice one that runs off gas next time lol

Harbor freight has an electric pressure washer that comes with a soap dispenser that ive been considering purchasing. So far most of the reviews on YouTube seem to be pretty positive and its only around 80 bucks

I have the Greenworks 2000psi electric power washer. I got it from either Loews or Home Depot. Perfect for washing cars and works great with the foam cannon. Plus you don't get all the noise of a gas power washer.

I have a Ryobi 2000psi electric. Got it at Home Depot. Works great.

https://www.homedepot.com/p/Ryobi-2-...1900/205566055

It was $179 at the store.
.
Regardless of what brand you get make sure it uses industry standard connections for the pressure hose, wand, lance, and tips. Many electrics use non-standard connections. This means you can't replace the above mentioned items individually. This can cost almost as much as buying a new pressure washer.

if you only use it for washing your car, fine.....other than that, I would get a gas one. I did, as my wife had gotten me an electric one and it really wouldn't do the job....I ended up giving it away and found out it didn't last long. I got one from Harbor Freight, they have Predator engines on them and mine has never let me down after 3 years.

and as far as a Foam Gun goes, I would highly recommend a professional quality gun like the one I got from Chemical Guys.

Does it really make a difference over using a standard bucket and soapy sponge? If so, why?

Look at Adams Polishes for the foam cannon. They are a C5 sponsor and have a great reputation around here. I bought the foam gun that they sell for the regular old garden hose and even that thing works great.

People use the foam guns/cannons to put down a soapy coat to lube the car and keep you from scratching the paint or anything. It helps for a better clean I think but most people use it before hand washing so it can add a little extra protection

I just looked at the Adams Polishes Foam Cannon.

It uses 1/4" quick disconnects. http://adamspolishes.com/adam-s-foam...ar-washer.html

These are industry standard connections used on gas as well as the better electric pressure washers.

So no matter which way you go make sure the tips are removable and are using the 1/4" quick disconnect.

actually...YES, its kind of like an ADVANCED 2 bucket, but you only have one bucket.

First off with a pressure washer, using just water, you wet down the entire car and blow off any dirt..
Second you soap it up really good....using your favorite car soap (Adam's), the foam soap lifts the dirt before you cart moving it around with your sponge/mitt. Personally, I add an extra step.....after I foam it up.....let the foam lift the dirt....them I rinse it off with my pressure washer, then foam it up again before the washing begins. then wash the car like normal using your rinse bucket with the rinse guard in it like normal.
