z/28 vs zl1 vs 1le suspension components
If there is another post like this, sorry in advance. From the z/28 to the zl1 and 1le, what if any are the difference in the suspension components? I know all you magnetorheological dampers with metal shavings and gas filled shocks. Besides specs and specific settings, are the components exactly the same. What is the difference in the shocks, struts, springs, stabilizing bars, shock mounts and toe links. I ask because I am on the verge of purchasing 1le track pack 23123398 for the v6. Also had a question, what is the difference between v6 and v8 version. Thank You

No they are not the same.
Are you asking as general information or with an eye on upgrades? |

Unless you are running 1LE wheels and tires (square), do NOT install the 1LE front bar. Use your OEM front bar. This will make your staggered wheel and tire setup more balanced. That detail aside, you will be amazed at the difference.
One part you should try to get from the Z/28 is the rear upper control arm outer rubber bushing. It is currently the best available part. |

Real 1LE wheels are 20 x 10, 20 x 11.....only the replicas come in smaller width.

Forgestar F14's 20x9.5 front 20x11 rear Tires: Michelin Pilot Super Sports 285/35 all around In the future after the rears are worn/gone which may be in a couple of years, I was thinking of jumping to 295/35 in the rear and keeping fronts 285/35, which will make the set up a little more staggered. So again, do NOT install the front 1LE sway even in my current set up? I was also hearing you can go with ZL1 bars, but didn't know if it was really worth it. I'm stuck on the GM 1LE track pack. Thank you.

That other company I know well 27 front and 32 rear 5mm difference Spring rate, tire sidewall, unsprung weight and other factor determine the ideal sway bar setup. I can tell you that I am still getting calls from the fastest 5th Gens looking for the 27/32. At the AC a tiney factory front may work better, but on a high speed track driven at 10/10ths it would be very loose. Very. |
