I don't feel like rebuilding my motor anytime soon.

Now one who runs to 6500rpm barking tires every gear switch is gonna pop something sooner than later. Count on that!

I personally think 600 to 650rwhp is all the stock internals can handle. Please chime in anyone who thinks otherwise.

I am no expert by any means but this is my thinking on your question.
Lingenfelter 650 package replaces internals so this shouldn't become the issue down the road and has 3/36 engine warranty even at this level ..... time will tell on other packages that might be pushing the limits (for camaro5 members sake - hope I'm wrong). Either way, I feel more confident with LPE (for the TVS2300 setup) over HPE, SLP, and Callaway packages. I checked out numerous options - which seemed like forever, and the most reputable builder circled back to Lingenfelter especially at higher HP levels. Was highly considering Callaway until Carbon Fiber ground effects failed to be available for their package (even though on all their advertizing) - and if CF was eventually available it seemed likely to be extremely overpriced from inside sources! HPE had the lowest warranty 1 yr/12k miles, versus 3/36 on others...... sounds like HPE isn't too confident that they're not pushing the limits. Then again, I tend to hold onto my cars forever..... so longevity if important. I'm sure we'll keep finding new "weak links" though. For those of you installing yourself or using other builders - more power to you and enjoy (30 years ago I would done the whole job myself).

.... Just an afterthought - GM must have offered their great warranty knowing we couldn't stand to wait that long before modifying! Smart tactic.

Yep, recently labeled as "addicted" by MTCWBY

the HPE650 is a great package, and they have built many HPE650's, with no problems.

It's definitely the Bell or the Whipple for me .
Is either kit available yet ?
I like the Bell's intercooled aspect and not having the extra shaft and gears , I also know the Whipple is proven and been around a while .
Ultimately the decision will probably come down to customer service and who I feel compfortable with because either way the car will be a rocket .
Any of you have experiences with either company ?
In an effort to not expand the ongoing skirmish in another thread , feel free to pm me .
I'd really like to hear first hand from present and former clients of theirs .
Thanks

I'm going with the Ken Bell . Spoke to Matt @ KB just a short while ago but the liquid cooled unit should be available in two weeks . I'm going to wait it out .
I like the fact it is cooled and also like the fact you can make a lot more power as you upgrade engine components/boost .
It seems to me , the most efficient , simplest and strongest unit available as of now.

Good luck.. You will be one of the first with the KB (or whipple) on the LS3.

They havn't shipped any with a LS3 setup as far as I know..

Looks good on paper. If what they say is true, it would be a good choice.

I am happy with my TVS2300 from LPE.

I thought the 2.8 is not liquid cooled only the 3.6 and 4.2 are.
Are they coming out with the 2.8 LC ?

How about the Edelbrock e-force? Preliminary numbers 524 rwhp, with an available ENTIRE powertrain warranty 3 year 36K miles for about $300--kit is available for about $6500 plus install. Lingenfelter and all the others with exception being SLP (I believe) only warranty the motor or at best the motor and trans, not the rear end or axles. Food for thought! read the warranty word for word and the only specific exclusion is a change to the supplied tune....

Don't be suprised when the 524 rwhp is 490...The claimed numbers are SAE, not STD/Corrected...

I agree about the Edelbrock. 524 uncorrected hp during a NJ winter! I'm sure the sae corrected numbers will be similar to the Magnacharger.

I believe that was also based on 5pds of boost.
