Looks ok for new styling. But who the hell does 181 horsepower impress? The tacos and raptors will be at mcdonalds by the time this truck gets back on the pavement from the dirt.

181hp is no slouch especially considering the enormous torque output and it's peak at such a low RPM. That's V-8 torque output practically just off idle (369lbft @ 2000rpm).

I see his point. If this was a towing package concept, then I would agree with you.

Just for adding to the discussion, how much torque is the LT1 making at 2,000 rpm? I have been looking for the SAE dyno charts but can't find anything.

You must not know a lot about off roading like most people do. It's the Torque that gets you over the rocks and up the hills. You don't want a high revving motor, you want the grunt down low.
Now it's different if you are running Baja, that kind of off-roading is what the raptor was designed for.

I understand which is why I asked how much torque the LT1 makes at 2,000 rpm. If it makes more, why wouldn't they use it?

Probably it's not needed for the ZR2's designed use.
Here is the Dyno sheet for the z51 LT1

Welcome back Hummer H3T! I think this truck will be very successful if built. I had a 2009 H3T with the inline 5, 239hp-241tq. Right after I bought it back in 2009, I took it to Moab and it handled every obstacle I thew at it. This truck with the front and rear locking differential, and 181hp, 369tq, will be a great off road truck. I miss my H3T, this is a truck I will seriously be considering to purchase if it makes it to production.

Bookmark it. Its very handy

But to answer your question, it looks to be roughly 390 ft-lbs at 2000 rpm

Probably because they want to remind people that the Colorado is going to be available with a diesel engine and/or don't want to lead people to believe that the ZR2 is going to be equipped with anything but a regular Colorado engine.
