2016 Camaro SS Heater acting up!
I’ve had my 6th gen Camaro for 2 years already and now when I’m parked my heater doesn’t blow hot air and it’s terrible! Especially with the cold weather right now, it works when I’m moving but when I come to a stop it gets cold so I just turn it off until I get moving again. Any ideas on what it could be & how to fix it, I’m currently in line at Dairy Queen and it’s 20 degrees outside and I’m freezing in the car with the heater off!

This might be a stupid question but does your outside temperature reading seem to be correct. My sensor went out in the Caddy once and the HVAC had a terrible time.

Ye’sir it reads the right temp outside, in the mornings I remote start it twice so by the time I get in to head to work it’s warm inside but now it doesn’t help, at least the engine is warmed up but in the car it doesn’t warm up at all idling.

Really? I actually have a bottle of coolant in my trunk so I can go fill it up right quick and see if it helps any.

I’ll save you a trip to dealer. “It’s normal”. Just like everything else that goes wrong in the car.

Right, dealers don’t do their jobs like they should!

It sounds more like your thermostat is stuck open. When its stuck open, coolant cannot remain in the motor long enough to heat up, its constantly pumping and cooling and not allowing the motor to reach operating temperature. When you're driving, there is enough heat generated by the motor to warm it up even in full circulation, but not the case when you're parked. |

I’m going to take my car by a local mechanic to see what the deal with it, that makes sense on why it only works when driving. I do a lot of driving so with cold weather everyday here in west Texas so that’s why I need it to stay warm
